This year we will not be staying on site, but will be staying at Vistana. We typically eat and drink our way around the world one night during our visit and aswe will not have the luxury of taking a disneybus home I am thinking that we will need a cab. I know that Vistana does have some shuttle service but what I remember of it was that it was very limited. So I think the best choice is a cab.
I am thinking that it may be easist to exit through the world showcase and get a cab at the boardwalk rather than from the front of Epcot. Having never used a cab at Disney I am not sure if they are usually at the park entrance but I think boardwalk would be a likely spot to find one.

The other option is to not eat and drink around the world but adults need to experience the magic too.

We usually use a towncar, but on one trip a while back we had a last minute change of plans and ended up taking a taxi to the airport from our hotel. We just asked the bellman to call one...apparently they wait somewhere on property and will come when called. So if you are at Boardwalk or any of the other hotels, you can easily request one.

A cab is an expensive alternative...but may be needed. You can call and within 15 minutes they will be wherever you want them to be. Your hotel will have the numbers.

The approx cost is $2.50 first mile, $1.50 each additional mile.

It is very easy to get a cab at the Boardwalk! Just walk to the hotel entrance and tell the CM at the valet station. He/She will call one up for you - there is a taxi waiting area just across the street. Should not take long at all for one to pull up!
