Taxi on Christmas Eve

Ok so we FINALLY have booked our trip to return to the Magic on Christmas Eve.

There are 8 of us travelling, so a shuttle works out about £90 from MCO to I-drive (staying here for 8 night before heading to OKW)

A taxi "normally" costs between $40-$50 but I wondered whether this is likely to be increased due to it being christmas eve and even whether there will be many taxis running at this time?

Any help would be appreciated as I cant seem to find any information regarding this.

you could book a town car in advance...

i hate the taxis in orlando....i find they have the worst drivers on the taxis...

as for whether there will be any - sure....people need to make a living every day of the year...plus there are plenty of non-christian taxi drivers...shouldn't be an issue...

Thank you for such a quick response.

We dont actually land until 5:30PM so was unsure what the avilablility would be like. I live in Essex which has many "non - Christian" taxi drivers, yet trying to get a cab on Christmas Eve can be a bit like pulling teeth!

In addition i thought given its a holiday they may use this as an excuse to make a few extra $$$ (who wouldnt) but not sure what the rules and regs are in Orlando regarding this.

We've used Mears over the holidays for the past three years and they don't increase their fares at any time.

Whether or not they turn up......that's another matter.

I think you are asking about a taxi from MCO? In which case there will be plenty and no they don't charge extra because its Christmas.

Yes we will be coming into MCO so wanted to see whether they would hike their prices up. Didnt want to arrive to a nasty shock!!

I know that Mears can be a bit hit and miss. But as long as we get there in one piece. lol! Only problem we may have is with car seats i think as we will only have 1 with us. Most taxis dont carry 3 car seats.
