Aug 05 we paid for transfers and had dreadful service. We think taxi is the best bet this year. We arrive (if no delays!) 12.30pm, any tips for getting thru quickly? We are staying at POFQ, how long should it take? Can anyone recommend a taxi firm?

Always hire a car - but reading the DIS some of the town car companies get a good review & they will make a grocery stop if you need it. Might be an idea.

I would go for a Towncar service rather than a taxi. That way you know the driver will be waiting for you on arrival, even if your flight is delayed.
You can also arrange for them to stop off at a grocery store en route to your resort so you can stock up on in-room drinks and snacks etc. :)

Check out the FLTours, who is a site sponsor. I've used them and had great service.

Change of topic but that flight time sounds the same as the flights we have been on the last few years. Flying with Monarch from Newcastle. It is an ideal time to get into Sanford because a load of flights tend to come in mid afternoon which can lead to lengthy lines plus you get into Orlando early enough to do something. We have headed out to Sea World both years, stayed up till 11 pm Florida time (meaning up a full 24 hours or so) but into Florida time as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the replies. Can't hire a car has dh only been driving 18 month & doesn't feel confident enough. Will try town car with grocery stop, just to load up with drinks, as we are on ddp. Wicket2005 what time do you think we'll get to pofq (excl delays).

If you land on time, you can expect about an hour to get through the airport (possibly less, but that is a realistic estimate) and then 45 minutes - one hour to get to POFQ.

That really is a great time to be arriving. Who are you flying with?

Thanks for help. We fly with Monarch, through Airtours Direct on 26/5 at 8.00am, from Newcastle. You can book direct, but package deal was cheaper.

I would agree with Deb for the timings. It means also you can get to the airport prior to rush hour traffic. Makes a long day but we are so excited because we know we are off to Orlando.

We used Tiffany Towncar services and they were great, especially as they had to wait 4 hours in the blazing sun for us. We landed on time but unfortunately so did two other packed British airlines. It took 1.5 hours to get through immigration and then 2.5 hours waiting for our suitcases.

The poor guy just stood outside waiting for us as he knew we had landed but could not find out what the delay was.

We had incredibly good service and I would recommend them to anybody. www.tiffanytowncars.com

I've never taken longer than 20 minutes to get through Sanford - its a very straight forward airport, and about 45 mins to POFQ
