My DH and another couple will be traveling to Disney over NYE and staying at the Hilton in DTD. Were thinking about having dinner at the Swan hotel and then (if were lucky enough to land a reservation) doing an illuminations cruise for the 11:50pm fireworks. Ive read that the bus and parking system are horrendous just after 12am on NYE. Could we avoid all of this if we take a taxi from the boardwalk to DTD? Is the traffic Im reading about (sitting 2 hours in the Epcot parking lot) just to get out of the theme park parking lots, or will traffic be bad everywhere on property?
In the past, weve done the taxi from BWV to DTD and the cost was about $15 including tip (this was at 5pm on a Friday). Wed be fine paying up to $25 (epically since wed have another couple to split the bill with), but I just dont want to end up in gridlock traffic and have a $100 taxi fare.
