Taxi fares within WDW

Can I pretty much go anywhere for less than $20, or are the longer rides going to cost more?

Ecpot to the Magic Kingdom cost about $15. It was charged at the normal per-mile (or quarter mile, I think), so I would assume that longer distances will cost more.

$20 was the max we ever paid for a cab on property (including tip). That was from Pop to GF.

There are taxis at all the resorts, they pretty much wait over in a section of the parking lot. When we stayed at the Allstar Sports we just went over to the baggage claim area and one of the gentleman there flagged the next cab.

Taxi Fare for Checker Cab, the official WDW taxi (run by Mears)

$2.20 for the first 1/4 mile and .55 for each additional mile. Official taxi's do not have to pay parking fee which an unofficial taxi does. The driver then will charge it's guests the additional fee if you need to pass through a toll booth.

Now if you choose an unofficial taxi and they have already paid the parking fee, you should not be charged for it. Make sure that you ask this up front.
