Does anyone know approximately how much a cab from Boardwalk to the Contemporary Resort would cost? Planning an anniversary dinner at Calif. Grill...

Thanks!

I'll take a guess at $15-$20 depending on the traffic. Never took one to the Contemporary.
Note that taxis are available at the main entrance of Disney resorts (Deluxes anyway, not sure of the others). They are normally waiting for rides, but if one is not available a Cast Member will get one for you right away.

Have you considered taking the bus to MK and then walking or taking the monorail to the Contemporary? Much cheaper than a taxi!

We won't have park passes that day...do you need them to get into MK to access the monorail? I can't remember...

No problemo. The monorail is outside of MK. And you certainly don't need park passes to ride the bus or monorail. After you get off the bus at MK, you're actually fairly close to Contemporary already. From that point, you'd actually need to walk AWAY from the Contemporary, all the way PAST the MK entrance and then some, to get to the monorail station. So walking may be the better option of the two, anyway.

But like I said, NONE of that requires using a park pass. As a Disney guest, you're entitled to use all available means of transportation, and none of those means of transportation leaves from or drops off INSIDE a theme park.

From your description it makes more sense to walk over from the buses. Not to be a girlie girl, but depending on what I wear for our special night out(heels?) I thought the cab might be nice. I'm more practical though- might bring a change of shoes hidden in a nice looking bag. :)

We'll see- thanks for the tips!

My three children, a friend, her son, and I paid $12 for a cab from BC to WL last June. The distance is very similar. This was the first time I had done this. We walked over from EPCOT to have dinner at Cape May, and afterward we were too full/tired to go back through the park to catch a bus. It was well worth the $12! We were at our resort in five minutes.
