I just looked at the mears site for shared shuttle to orlando airport from Royal Pacific Hotel.....72.00 one way.
When I checked the taxi estimator it showed 35.00

Has anyone taken a cab to the airport from a universal hotel?
Should I just ask the concierge to book this for us or do I need to arrange this before we get there?

It will cost pretty close to $50 using a cab. That's what we always use. You can just grab one at the airport and there is always one waiting at the hotel.

Per the Mears Transportation Site the shared ride is 29.00 per adult round trip and 23.00 per child round trip.

Mears Limos start at 111.00 round trip ( depends on how many in the party )

Cab is around 50.00 each way so it you have more than 2 adults and one child, the taxi may be more economical for you.

There will be 5 of us with 5 suitcases. We're going from the airport to the Portofino. Are there lots of bigger taxi vans or should I book something in advance.
Thanks,

We've found using a limo service was more convenient, plus you get a grocery stop for all the stuff you can't pack in suitcases these days. The service we use has been charging around $95 I believe.

$50 for a cab to the airport -- does that include tip?

Mears is $34 for one child and one adult. I'm thinking a cab is worth the extra money to avoid the shuttle hassle.

When I took a cab last fall from RPR to Pop Century, it cost me nearly $50 with tip. Those cab fares sure add up fast!

Going from airport to RPR (and back) this weekend, we ended up at $52, including tip and tolls.

We'll have four adults, a toddler, and an infant. I'm also thinking of bypassing DME and hiring a private car/van, but of course we'll need car seats if we do.

The car services will provide car seats. Just be sure to request them at booking.

Will you let us know how this transportation worked out for you? Have a good trip!

When in Florida we've always used Tiffany Towncar. They've always been very reasonable, and the service is great. They have towncars and SUV's and Vans depending on how big your party is. When my entire family travels (four of us) we need an SUV to hold everything. They also do a free 30 minute grocery stop.
Great company!!:thumbsup2
