My dd is 6, almost 7 when we are at WDW and I wanted to take a taxi from CBR to BC for an ADR, does she need a car seat in FL?

"Every operator of a motor vehicle as defined herein, while transporting a child in a motor vehicle operated on the roadways, streets, or highways of this state, shall, if the child is 5 years of age or younger, provide for protection of the child by properly using a crash-tested, federally approved child restraint device. For children aged through 3 years, such restraint device must be a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child seat, or a seat belt may be used. "

If I'm reading this right, children in FL over the age of 5 need nothing but a seatbelt.

Yes from reading them it seems like a child over 5 does not need a car seat. Can anyone else confirm that?

Yes, that's the law in Florida.

The Florida law requires all children under the age of 4 to be in a car seat. Age 4 and above only have to be restrained by the regular seat belts as stated in the last sentence above.

Florida lets the parents decide on car seats. I prefer it that way. And yes, my 7-year-old rides in a booster seat 99.9 percent of the time.
