Tax refunds

We filed a few days before the 30th but ours are being held because of the "new education credits" so I am sure we won't see our refund for weeks and weeks and weeks....

Ours too! Was very disappointed, but we are getting a nice refund bc of it, so glad it's there anyway :)

Still waiting. I hope I get the refund next week.

I wonder if they will process any on the weekends?

I was surprised to get the "YOUR STATE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED" email this morning since our Federal is being held. SO that was some good news. I guess they are able to process it without the federal being processed. :confused3

My moms showed up yesterday saying scheduled to be deposited on February 4. However, it showed up in her bank account this morning. I am sure this has something to do with the fact that her bank is open on Saturdays.

Mine is sitting in Taxact waiting for me to submit it. I'm still getting over the shock that it will be over $3,000 less than it was last year.

Income was the same but for some reason (we think a switch in payroll processing company) DH had less taken out in Fed taxes. DD#2 graduated college in Dec. They put the tuition for the Jan-May semester on last year's 1098-T (which I didn't realize until I called the university) and she got a tuition waiver that counts as a scholarship for the Aug-Dec semester so we don't get the $2,500 credit that we got last year.

At least the refund will be enough to pay my property taxes.

I don't hold out any hope of getting the state back fast. Illinois is at the bottom of all states with their credit rating and so far in debt.

I hear ya. Add in our DD moving and hurts as she is no longer a dependant. You're getting enought to cover property taxes!?!?!??!:worship::worship::worship: If your taxes are like ours, that is a nice amount to get.

Mine updated today is supposed to be here the 6th it was accepted last Saturday. We are not geting tons but every little bit helps:)

I have't got my bank statements yet with mortgage interest and interest earned...and ya'll are already getting refunds. (What's that, I ask?)

Can't you get those online? I just went on my online account and there is a year end forms link there. Got my student loan interest the same way too.

Ours said it would be here on Monday but is in my account today. :thumbsup2 Between overestimating our first quarter and DH closing his business to take a full time job we got a larger than usual refund and it is certainly nice to see it show up earlier than we expected.

Our state and federal were accepted yesterday, so I'm hoping for them to show up in our bank account soon.

Please add me to held up for education credit list. I just hope the IRS does begin accepting those by mid-February like they said. ;)

We are also waiting on the education credit. Apparently our state is not one who processes electronically without the federal being processed so waiting on it as well. Hurry up government!

Is anyone afraid of getting audited by filing early? I have heard that the IRS takes a sample from a pool of early filers to audit, and the the later one waits to file the less chance of an audit. This assumption has been around for a long time now, so wondering if this really is the case anymore.

also waiting because of the education credit. We dont really "need" the money right now but it would be nice to have. Anyone know how long it takes to get PA state taxes back? it says 8-10 weeks on the website which I know is wrong.. last year I think it was 2-3 weeks anyone have a better memory than me?

Mine also updated today to say it will be deposited on Feb. 7th! In time for our trip at the end of the month!

When did you guys file? We are not getting but a couple hundred dollars back but before inputted our rental property information we owed money and I am so afraid I did something wrong that is why it is taking so long and it is going to go back to us owing money.
