Ok, I know this sounds like a weird question:confused: but does anyone know the rate of tax that is added to our packages, rooms, etc? I am trying to do a cost comparison and the price Disney gave me had tax included. I am trying to compare it to other combinations of room, tickets, etc. but I don't know the rate.:confused3 Thanks

ok, the search engine on the boards is finally working on my computer (one of these days I am going to have to upgrade:surfweb: ). Well now I am a bit more confused. I found a thread that stated Hotel tax is 12.5%, ticket tax is 6.5% and restaurant is 6.5%.

Sooooo, is the DDP taxed? and at what rate?

Also, what if you get the MYW package, how is this taxed?

Thanks a bunch!:rainbow:

I think the tax rate for rooms at WDW is 12.5%. (The sales tax plus the resort tax) The sales tax rate is 6.5%.

Sorry, I see you found it before I could put it up....got distracted. I have been given two different answers on this.

1) that tax is included in the daily rate

2) that tax is NOT included in the daily rate

BUT the tax IS included on your food

:confused3

 Ok, I even more confused:confused:
Do you mean the daily rate of the dining plan? What about the package tax rate?

The price you pay for the DDP includes the sales tax (e.g. in 2007 you pay $38.99 per adult per night, total).
The Magic Your Way - or any - package includes tax at the appropriate rates: 12.5% or 13% on your room, 6.5% on your tickets, 0% (technically) on the DDP.

The tax rates are different at different resorts in WDW, based on where they are.
The tax on the dining plan is included in the price of the dining plan.
you pay the FL tax on tickets no matter where in the country you purchase them.

THANK YOU!!!! That was the best explanation yet (including searches on the boards).

Also thanks to Mickeythepooh, great info too!
I finally get it!:jumping1:

All-Stars is in a different county, therefore, a different tax rate.

I was told at my local AAA....that even with AAA discount on WDW tickets, with our local sales tax being so high....it negates the discount.....meaning if you buy tickets in a different state....that is the tax rate you pay.....unless you buy online from florida...then you pay their sales tax rate.
