I am assuming that the 239.20 I am looking at on the web site for HRH does not include tax. Can someone tell me the tax rate on the hotels? Even when I go further they want my credit card before they give me the entire cost and I am not comfortable with that.

Hi, it is 11.5% and parking is extra too. If you do "view rate rules" when booking online, I think that will show you as well.

Thanks for the info. You mean you actually have to pay to park when you stay at one of their hotels? I have never had to do this at Disney.

Yup! I think it is now $10 per day for parking. Since we are only staying at Universal, we are not bothering to rent a car this trip.

Yeah, I went back and looked at my numbers from last year on this page
http://www.nogodforme.com/RPR2005.htm
And it was 11.5%, so for our room rate of $210.6 the tax was $24.22. Parking was $7 a night, but it has since gone up to $9 or $10, and they charge you 6.5% tax on that, go figure.

So for your stay, it would be $239.20 times 11.5% = $27.51. And if you drive over in a rental car, it's $10.60 a night to park. The rental car is worth it if you are only staying a couple nights.

Hotels always rip people off on the taxes.

Here, if you want a budget hotel across the street, try this page.

The Amerisuites or the Best Western are good. Both have free breakfast.
