We had ductwork and carpets cleaned in anticipation of a tenant. I have the receipt for work. Is this something that can be deducted as a business expense for a rental property even though we were physically still living there when it was done?
It isn't something we would have done for our purposes without a renter. But since we had pets, it was done at the request of the tenant.
