Tax on ticket date change costs more than ticket price difference?

Hi all - I'm trying to change dates for an upcoming trip we had planned and when I modify the ticket dates online it shows that the total price difference for all tickets changed is $87 but the tax charged is $130. Am I missing something? Why would tax be more than the price of the change? I've already changed the dates once before and I don't remember this happening, but maybe I just didn't pay attention? Any insight? Thank you!

Were any of them military tickets bought on a base or through Shades of Green? I believe tickets are not taxed at those venues but if upgraded/modified the tax is charged.

Otherwise, I'd say there's a glitch and try again later.

No, just regular tickets. I was hoping it was a glitch but thought maybe there was something i didn't know! Thanks, I'll wait and try later.

I haven’t been able change my tickets. I keep getting an error message. I think the system is just wonky right now.

I have called Disney twice and changed my dates at no cost. Our trip was originally scheduled for April 25th and I called before they had officially closed for those dates and changed them to the end of May. After Universal announced closed thru May 31st I again changed my dates on my Disney tickets at no cost by calling. My tickets are E tickets bought from a 3rd party but had been connected to my MDE. So you may want to try calling and see what they will do for you.

I also first tried to do on MDE on my own but it wanted to charge me so I tried calling to see if there was a way to do it without having to pay.
