Tattoos on teachers?

:laughing::laughing: I would love to know how you know for sure that your kids "share your views" about everything.

What is with this topic that so many judgmental, condescending jerks are posting with their superior, elitist attitudes? I think we have a enough of them on here now to make up a basketball team.

Only a basketball team? :confused3 A small city I would say. :thumbsup2

I give up.....

Apparently...only teachers and professionals are offensive with tattoos since no one will even TOUCH the military/civil service people topic...

But it wouldn't be a very good team. They'd be too disracted and upset at the other teams' tattoos! :rotfl2:

What is a full sleeve tattoo

It is a group/one tattoo covering one's arm...typically from shoulder to wrist.

VERY EXPENSIVE and can take a long time to complete...usually done in more than one session.

DH's took about 27 hours total to complete.

Ouch that sounds painful, I can't stand needles.

I actually enjoy the feeling of tattoo needles. They don't go in deep, and they move in and out of your skin very quickly. Doesn't really hurt, it's more like an adrenaline rush.

And he is in the military?.
I looked up the rules and it didnt sound like "sleeves" were allowed

He sure is...Serving overseas right now.

It's not exactly a rule they enforce. Actually...I don't see them enforcing it at all. My husband even enlisted with the sleeve. A few guys in his unit even have neck tattoos.

By brother enlisted about 1.5 yrs ago and is overseas now. He doesn't have a full sleeve, just from the elbow to the wrist done on one arm, and he has facial piercings. Didn't stop them from letting him in.

The way I see it if you are in the military and are willing to give your life for your country, I say if you want a tattoo more power to you.

Okay, let's reason this out:
  • You're addressing Soldier's*Sweeties
  • A soldier is a member of the U.S. Army (yes, I'm sure not any other branch of the Armed Forces)
  • Therefore, her husband is in the U.S. Army
Okay. The U.S. Army doesn't have any regulation prohibiting sleeve tattoos http://www.atlantictattooremoval.com/military_tattoo_policies.html
Now, I admit this information is from a company that does laser tattoo removal, not the government. It seems thorough, though - sonuntil I can find something more official, I'm going with this.

What's your source?

Well now...in defense to...eh hem......tattoo haters...

The reason the Army has very loose body art policies is that they are the only branch who is not permitted to roll up their sleeves. The only time they are allowed to wear short sleeves is at PT.

We have people from all branches here where I live and I have seen Marines and Airforce people with their sleeves rolled up with tattoos. No sleeves, but I haven't really been looking. But...when you enlist, they DO go over your body and document any body art or piercings . They know if you have them...

I'd be ok with a teacher having tattoos as long as:

*he/she didn't feel the need to lift up his/her shirt and show them to the students and why it's not a bad thing to have a tattoo (as did one teacher mentioned earlier in this thread, with her piercing)

*it wasn't offensive... ie, no gang stuff, obscenities, nude pics.
