I have thought about getting it removed, but it costs a lot and it will still have marks more than likely. So.... I need help from all of the clever budget boarders!

I am a teacher and I have an arm band. I got it when I was 19 in the Army. It is only about a centimeter thick. I am sick of wearing 3/4 length sleeves in the summer. I can't even wear a t shirt because of where the tattoo sits.
Please give me ideas on how I can cover it up? My mom told me to wear a wrist sweat band over it! I am sure someone else will have a better idea.

Thanks for all your thoughts and ideas!

Cut the band off a pair of flesh color knee-highs, cheap light to wear + flesh toned.

Watch or leather wristband is all I can think of. I was going to suggest the Sephora product too.

I work in the beauty industry, and if you're looking for a make-up, I recommend Dermablend. It is made to cover up birthmarks, tattoos, scars and discolorations. You can find it online and at better department stores. I recommend watching some Youtube videos to learn how to properly apply it. I have never used the Kat Von D cover up from Sephora, but I do like her other cosmetics.

If you're really serious about covering this tattoo, and have a little money to spend, this is the best product on the market, it is used in film...I believe it's around $300.00, but it's the best of the best.

Dermablend. :thumbsup2 (unless you want to get the expensive stuff, which would probably be awesome.)

I chose to cover my tattoo on my back for my wedding. I bought this stuff called Tattoo Cover Up and it comes in different shades and it worked like a dream! No one could tell! DH of course knew it was there and even he could not tell. It didn't rub off on my wedding gown or on anyone else when they hugged me, either. I highly recommend this stuff! Here's what it looks like but you can Google it to find it cheaper I'm sure: http://www.advantagebridal.com/wetacoupkit.html

Can you really not have tattoo's while being a teacher ? What's so wrong with it ?

I'm also curious as to why your tat has to be covered. Does your school have a dress code that prohibits it?

My school district (in NJ) does not allow visible tatoos. I don't agree with it but unfortunately it is the way it goes. It saddens me that some people still associate tatoos with "trouble".....I am a good teacher despite the fact that I have several tatoos.

Tatoos are a big no-no in my district too. Like it or not teachers are role models. While having a tatoo does not make you a bad person etc... it isn't a socially acceptable form of expression in all areas of society. Many parents right or wrong would be put off and think ill of someone with a tatoo. Hey, at least we don't have to wear hose anymore. I refused to wear dresses when I first started, because we had to wear hose.;)

I wonder what cast members use. I've noticed a few tattoo coverups during the Beauty and the Beast show. ;)

Our school system is very conservative as far as dress code, and we are smak dab in the middle of the Bible Belt, and we have at least 4 teachers in my high school with visible tattoos that come to mind immediately. I really thought that it was no longer a big deal pretty much everywhere?? No one seems to have a problem with them here unless someone is covered in them. I personally think that it is not a "role model" issue at all, but just as much a personal choice as getting you ears peirced. No school would refuse to hire a teacher with peirced ears, so why tatoos??

Have you looked into Wrecking Balm? I don't know what your budget is but it's got to be cheaper than laser removal. I've seen it sold at Walmart in the skincare (bug bite cream, psoriasis, etc.) section.

ETA: I just looked at some reviews ... not so good. Sorry!
