I thought I heard a rumor somewhere that tater tots were taking over some of the menus instead of french fries... I know this is true at the wilderness Lodge but does anyone know if it’s happening anywhere else?

Friars Nook in MK. Disney Food Blog has a video on their website.

So what is with Disney's fascination with tater tots lately? They've added them to some meals at DLR lately too. I mean, I have nothing against tater tots, but they just don't seem that interesting to me. Especially as a side dish on a $45 Fantasmic dining package (at DLR).

I think they are a "phase" of sorts, an attempt to replace French fries which can be boring and frankly nearly everyone has a favorite way to fix French fries. I like tater tots and do put a batch in the oven at home on occasion but there is nothing like a "tot" that has been deep fried the way God intended!

Love tots. They are much more forgiving vs fries for under and over cooking. Mushy fries or burnt fries are just gross. But undercooked or over cooked tots are still delicious.

I loved the tots with the croissant sandwich at Gaspiralla’s (GF QS) instead of the typical “breakfast potatoes” every other breakfast QS seemed to serve.

I’m in the “good fries are better than tots, but that still means fried tots are better than most fries, including Disney QS fries” camp
