Tassimo or Keurig

Didn't know they sold Timothy's brand in the US, as it's a Canadian company. My wife's law firm (she was a legal secretary) had Timothy's as a client.

I've not seen this in any store. I've only found it available through Keurig.

When we bought our brewer, this was one of the samples in the box.

Excellent coffee.

I'll check for prices in the stores here. I could drop off a coffee care package for you in March, when I come to WDW.

Have you tried Bed Bath & Beyond? That's the only brand/flavor my husband likes and I buy it there (with the coupon of course)

After using my Tassimo the machine I started feeling guilty about the amount of plastic I was not recycling- so I tried to cut the foil off and clean out the grounds to recycle. YUCK!

I also did not have good luck with my Tassimo as it died in less than a year which surprised me because I am the only coffee drinker in my home.

Thinking about getting a Keurig, but don't know if the K-Cups can be recycled more easily. Anyone doing it? :hippie:

Those individual serving packs do make for a lot of excess packaging!
But I guess that is part of the environmental cost of a good cup of coffee.

OK...

I'm finally going to take the plunge and buy a Keurig tomorrow at Best Buy.

(Thanks, Sis, for the generous gift card ! ;) )

For all you Keurig experts - Is this a "good one" for a good price ?

That seems a little high. I think that is the model that we got but we got ours at Sam's Club and it came with 60 K-cups for that price. I believe the one we have is this one - http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod1480162. We can program the water temp, time on, how long to stay on, has a reservoir, etc.

I think that's about what I paid at Penney's - looks like the B60. We had the cheaper model, but upgraded this year (I think it was called the elite and was $99 - no digital display). The model you're looking at is significantly quieter than our original model. My only quarrel with the B60 has been the resevoir for the water is a smidge smaller. The B70 (at Penney's) was about $30 more. IIRC, it also had 4 cup/brew size settings to the B60's 3 sizes.

We had no problem with the elite - giving it to mother-in-law - she won't let us buy her a new one.

Costco also has a great deal going on the Keurig right now. The Platinum B70 model plus 60 K-cups and the My K-cup (so you can use your own coffee, normally $15-$20 extra) is $149.99 on their website including shipping. Our local Costco had it in stock for $139.99, which is considered their 'cash and carry price.' We bought one for ourselves along with one for a birthday gift for my mother and we all love them!

Here's the link to the Costco offer online:

I spoke with a rep about this issue and she said they are working on making them recyclable.

Hope it's ok to bump this old thread with similar question.... I have a keurig and use the timothys rainforest espresso kcup, but it's not really espresso like a coffee house espresso. Thinking about getting a tassimo, how does their espresso compare to say a starbucks????? Thanks!!!!

I'm considering buying a Keurig after the holidays with my bonus......which model does anyone recommend? It's just me that will be using it. Thanks.
