is anyone else terrified of tarzans treehouse??? omg when i went up there on our last trip i freaked! :rotfl2: i didnt expect it to be that high! im scared of heights, so im sure that didnt help. has anyone else been up there that is scared of heights, and did you ever go back up? i really want to try it again, but im scared ill freak again lol

I want to go on it just because I can't remember even going on it in the first place. Your so funny to be afraid haha; you're such a girl !!!

That didn't scare me, but that little ride in CA sure did! Forget the name, but it was way up high and I felt like I was going to fall off the track! :scared1:

omg i was shaking! hahahaha yea i know im a wuss:lmao: im determined to go back up though! hahaha everyone else had a good time up there, but i took off and left them all behind to get back down asap! lol

ooooh in DCA are you talking about that giant sun wheele? i cried on that!! hahaha my mom took pics of me and my sis inlaw balling up there, its hilarious. i did end up going back on that again though...dont know why. i cried the second time too. haha just dont go on the sliding cages...i thought i was gonna die on those things.

Sorry but I don't have those same fears. I love the treehouse and it's a must every trip. Of course when I was 2 yo my dad turned around from his roof repairs and found me coming up the ladder! :rotfl: So, not much of a fear of heights I guess.

At least there are lots of nice sturdy rails to hold on to. Maybe if you don't look straight down, but more out over the park?

pinkbudgie, i know what ride you're talking about now! its that crazy one that looks like a kiddie rollarcoaster, but its sooo not. it does feel like you're gonna fly off the tracks on the top where its all curvy! its really fun though! haha

I am SO Glad that I am not the only one that balled my eyes out while on the Giant Sun.... I was so freaked out that I just wanted off. It was HORRIBLE....

I'm not so scared of Tarzan's Treehouse as I am completely GASSED by the time I'm done!! I tell ya, all those stairs!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's the only thing at DL I'll let the kids do on their own :thumbsup2 I walk for exercise on a daily basis, and it still kills me :faint:

Yes, that's the one. Don't even mention the sunwheel! There is no way I'm doing that!

I haven't been up in the treehouse in many years. It just about killed me when I was 80 pounds heavier. Maybe I should give it a try on our next visit.

I didn't find the swinging gondala's to be that bad. If you can handle ToT or Screamin' then they are nothing.

re: sunwheel, there are those who refer to the swinging ones as the swinging gondolas of death. if you THINK it will be scary, don't get on the swinging ones. :)

tarzan's: yes it scares me. My brain won't shush when I'm dealing with heights, and I keep on thinking of, imagining, all the different ways I could fall down, or worse, all the ways my son could fall down. First time on it (well, as a child I am sure I went on it as Swiss Family Robinson's treehouse) I was wearing my son in a back carry, making me about 25 lbs heavier, and he kept moving so I was not as in balance as usual. And I kept imagining all the bad things that could happen with that.

Yeah, I'll go up in it, but I don't really LIKE it.

I'm with you, girl! I knew well enough thanks to DIS'ers not to take the swinging baskets on the sunwheel, and I had been comfortable enough with California' Screamin', Mullholland Madness, TOT, Splash Mountain, the Maliboomer, etc... (and even the Tarazan Treehouse :) )

But the one night we tried the sunwheel, I felt like I was going to cry. I don't know what it was, but obviously the height must have had something to do with it. Then, when we got to the bottom, the ride operator says, "I'm gonna' let you guys go around one more time" as he whisked us back up again. :scared1:

I tell you, I was never so glad to reach the ground. :worship:

It just goes to show, everyone is different, and what seems like a thrill to some can be a horrible experience for another. For me, it may have been because it was already dark outside, and perhaps my eyes had a hard time connecting the distance to the ground??? I think I will try it in the day time again. I think...

Edited to add this quote, etc...
i started screaming that i wanted off and they let me go. it was embarassing, but at that point i didnt care! hahaha

So THAT'S the trick to not having them have one more go around, LOL! ;)

haha IM so glad im not the only one now! :cool1: hahaha i actually got off in the middle of the ride..i started screaming that i wanted off and they let me go. it was embarassing, but at that point i didnt care! hahaha i dont know why i went back on on our next trip but i guess its cuz i like scaring myself! ahahaha but yes it is horrible!

What do you think would happen if you took some Gravol about an hour prior to the scary ride and/or walk up the treehouse? I wonder if that would help to 1.) Give you a slightly less sensitive sense of balance, and 2.) Relax you a little bit.

:goodvibes

i looooove california screamin', but the swinging gondalas are a whole different story! its sooo much scarier in my opinion...maybe it has to do with the whole 'fear of heights' thing i got going on lol probably b/c on screamin you got something holding you down...in the gondalas, you're just in a cage with no belts on or nothing! theres nothing to even hold onto! hahaa i hurt my fingers gripping onto the cage-like windows while screaming for my life:rotfl:

hahaha swinging gondolas of death is the perfect name for it! i totally agree with you; do not get on if you're having ANY doubts about it! unless you're a dork like me who just doesnt know when to say NO to a disney ride lol.

and i know what mean about the treehouse! all i could think up there was EARTHQUAKE!! hahaha and it just keeps getting higher and higher..i was just like what! we're still going up!! lol i had my 12 month old son with me too; i had to hand him over to my mom cuz my hands were starting to freeze up! it was so bad...i really want to do it again though, im just so scared!

is that something that helps with being panic-y and stuff? i was totally thinking about getting something like that b/c i totally needed it that day. i was all shaken up from that treehouse lol and of course everyone was laughing at me (i dont blame them:laughing: ) but yea i think i NEED something like that if im gonna be going back up there!

The first time I went up into the Treehouse I got quite a scare from the leopard. I was standing in front of it looking down, didn't see it, and heard the roar and freaked out.
If I was afraid of heights too it would have been even worse! LOL.

Oh no, the Sun Wheel is so evil. I took a non-moving car and was still freaking out the whole time. It takes forever to load and unload too. I saw the swinging cars before I got in line and said "NO WAY". That just doesn't seem like fun to me, and I love thrill rides.
