Tarzan Rocks Replaced By........

You know what's funny? I always "make" my family see the Tarzan show. We're one of those "do-it-all-while-you're-there people" because--after all--you never know if you'll make it back again, right?

...and none of my family liked the show either! I always say to everyone when we get there, "Okay, we're at the Tarzan show, let's go," and my boys (8, 5) ALWAYS WHINE ABOUT IT.

Let's be truthful here--were the Tarzan movies really that big of a hit? My kids never took to them at all. The Disney movies that were (are) huge hits, they marketed to death (i.e., Toy Story, Lion King, etc.), and this one--no big marketing push still going on...I think Tarzan's time has come and gone. I think Disney did their part and tried to keep the "dream alive," but just from my family's reaction and reading through this thread, I can see most people didn't care for it.

It was a boring show, and I hope they don't do a FN thing there either. They need to do something like a "Dinosaur/Aladar"-themed show, something that will fit it in with the "land."

But, hey--why are we discussing this? Those guys at Disney make MILLIONS a year to think this way, and if us little peons can think in this direction, let's hope the BIG guys can think that way too!

I've also heard CMs say there was going to be a 5th park opening by 2010...yet that's not happening so far. :) I'm sure your sister is wonderful, but until I hear it from TWDC itself, I take rumors with a grain of salt and I just don't worry about it. :sunny:

On a side note about a 5th park, mabye they were referring to a new Disney Park in Shanghai that is scheduled to open 2012.

I can't beleive how many people hate the Tarzan Show. It is one of my all time favorites. We just saw it in July with standing room only in 100 degrees plus temperatures. I was the one singing all the songs. I will be real sad when it goes but I will make sure the 20 people I am going with in October go see it one more time.

I wasn't talking about an entire theme park. I was talking about the rumors that meant an additional park at WDW. That rumor has been flying wildly for quite some time. Besides, a new theme park at Shanghai would be the 6th park...not the 5th that had been spread around.

I know this is an old post and I am a newbie but....weighing in on this topic.
Bashing the Mighty Tarzan
I have blown off going to see Tarzan as I wondered about the roller skating and Rock Concert Atmosphere but always saying it wasn't worth the time as we all know how time is CRITICAL at DA MOUSE but...
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would my Daughters of 15 and 5 also LOVED IT !
As with most Disney shows they are ALL GOOD.
I may not be a fan of when they Ditched the DreamMaker on the new Journey to Imagination not the progression of Flight to the Moon, Mission to
Mars, Extra-Terror to Stitch but this is not as bad as being portryaed and needs to be viewed if you haven't before it's gone. Solid Place to rest out of the Mid Day Sun, hehehe...

I have to say i cant believe people were falling asleep during tarzan rocks- do these people get it? i mean these dancers, skaters, singers, air tricks, all of it is amazing they do this show like 4-5 times a day and at each performance they act as though they are doing it for the first time, just for you! i love Tarzan Rocks, i am a dance studio owner, and have danced my whole life, maybe i just appreciate the whole picture, this show makes me cry every time. i embaress my dh and 2 ds each time we see the show, i am sad to see it go, i certainly hope we do not see more nemo...

as far as what does tarzan have to do with AK? um didnt tarzan grow up in the Jungle?

Everyone has their favorites and def. have their least liked attractions, that is what makes disney so great the variety.

we have been to disney 7 times and all 7 timestarzan was "sold out" so i am def not in the minority opinion.

please dont let it be nemo! JMHO

Wow! I was surprised to read how many did not like Tarzan Rocks! We love it and really can't imagine why/how something like Nemo could even replace it... what on earth Nemo has to do with AK is a mystery... maybe MGM, but AK... that's really a stretch... even for Disney. I guess times change, but Nemo already has it's spot in EPCOT... And I really don't know why it needed a spot at all. I will be sorry to see Tarzan go. It was a very creative show. Guess we better plan to brave the crowds to see it before it leaves.

My question is why people are getting so anxious about Nemo when it's not even official? Just sit back, relax, and wait until an official word is said...THEN we can worry about what's replacing it.

Maybe it's Captain Nemo, and the show will be an undersea voyage to discover strange magical creatures, since that's supposed to be a theme of AK that's been untouched.

You could do a lot with lighting with an enclosed dome.

Tarzan Rocks is an attraction that we've never seen. This next trip in December we are concentrating on alot of attractions that we've missed, and Tarzan is something we'll see.

My family loves the Tarzan movie. It has great songs!!!! We also like the Nemo movie (though I think we like Tarzan more).

To the pp who mentioned the Swiss Family Treehouse will be replaced by Tarzan: I think they already did that at DL. It's Tarzan's treehouse. It's the same thing, only the "furniture" has been changed...lol.

I wish they would bring more of the Disney movies to life at WDW. Mulan is another one of our favorites, along with Hercules, Alice, Mary Poppins, etc.

It's so hard to please everyone!!!

Mary

Love Tarzan Rocks and will miss it. Just like we miss the Hunchback show from years ago. Glad we got to see it again in June. Not as great as FOLK, but still like it alot.

My question would be why someone who posted a few pages back that they take rumors with a grain of salt, and just does not worry about it. Seems to care about it. :confused3

Please do not think I am trying to be rude, because I am not. :goodvibes I mean if people want to worry, or get so anxious about a Nemo show more power to them. Thats why this board is here to let folks air the opinions, and feelings while trying to add to the topic. Hey and who know perhaps some one high up in the Disney ladder that puts show together will see this, and decide on something else because of peoples opinion.

When I said my sister ( CM at AK ) had told me the same thing as the O.P. I thought I would share. I was not trying to mislead anyone, or cause widespread panic. My sister has been pretty good at giving me AK info in the past, but I also know some of what she tells me wrong for time to time. In that case I tease the heck out of her. :rotfl:

Again please don't take this as a personal attack against you. :goodvibes I am just trying to express my opinions, and feeling on the matter.

Cheers: :cool1:
