Tarzan Rocks question

We've never taken our kids to the Tarzan Rocks show at Animal Kingdom, as they didn't really know the Tarzan story. But since our last trip, they have fallen in LOVE with the movie and the music.
I have been to the show myself, and as an adult, all I remember was that it was EXTREMELY loud (well, that and the fact that Tarzan was amazing ;) ).
Are there any seating areas where you think the music might not be quite so loud. I figured maybe we were right in line with the speakers last time (midway back right in the center--an awesome viewing area). I know the kids would love the show, if they can get past that ridiculous volume. We've gone so far as to blast the CD in the car (something I never do), just to prepare them for all that loud music.

Any suggestions?

Hi.
Yes LOVE that Tarzan:teeth:
Tarzan is one of two things we have done that are too loud to me. The other is RNR.
Dont get me wrong I really like both of them, but My dh and I bring earplugs to them and put them in just before the start of both. It really helps us enjoy these. Without the earplugs I dont think I could do these.
WE get the sponge kind.
I dont know the age of your child, but if you could get her to use them, Im sure they would help.
With Tarzan I dont need sound at all! Just my EYES:earseek:

Yes, it is a very loud show. While I can't recommend seating that would be quieter, I can recommend the very first row right behind the walkway about half way down (does that make sense?) - they skate right in front of you!

In March we were in the last rows. I can tell you we still saw just fine and I didn't find it to be too loud.

We saw the show a couple weeks ago. We walked in just as the show was starting so we were in the very back by the fence. I didn't think it was too loud and we could see everything quite well.

Though the roller skating was interesting..........I found this to be the worst "live" show that Disney does. Very loud, music not too good (& I like rock n roll)
If you have seen all of AK or need a place to rest your feet than go see it but ceratinly I wouldn't go out of my way.

I'm thinking RalphMouth has a little "Tarzan envy"!
How in the World could this be the worst live performance in WDW? I have always thought it was the BEST. We always go out of our way to see it. The roller skating stunts, the acrobatics on the ropes, the music, ...what more could you want?

I like the earplug idea!! ::yes:: We went in December & DS-10 just kept plugging his ears & begging to leave. DD-8 LOVED it, but, yes it was very loud. This time, I want to take DD-22 (she did not come with us last time) and I am hoping the earplug idea will help DS, or he & I will have to find something else to do. :(

I have never seen this show, maybe next time I will. I always take foam ear plugs with me to every park. MANY of the show are too loud for me. I just tuck the ear plugs in the tiny zipper pocket of my fanny pack. I insert the ear plugs just before a loud show begins. I can actually hear things better while I am using the ear plugs.

personally I think this show is a "ripoff" of Starlight Express-
I'm not saying that the talent on skates isn't present because it's there. I was just not thrilled about the music.
To me the best "live" show in Disney is Lion King at AK. To me that's Disney at their best.

I must have a weird family, because we love ALL of the Disney stage shows! Since we had heard so many bad things about Tarzan Rocks!, we were very pleasantly surprised that we totally enjoyed the show. We've sat down near the stage (very loud) and also at the back of the theater (not as loud). And on the other hand, we couldn't wait to see Festival of the Lion King because we heard so many great things about it, that even though we LOVED it, we were a little let down because our expectations had been set SO high.

We always see Indiana Jones and Beauty & the Beast at MGM and never get sick of them...must be that pixie dust! (and we really miss Hunchback...)

We saw the show just 4 days ago - previously we had seen it last April.

Either they have reduced the volume, or from our seat most of the noise was going over our heads.

We sat in the second row above the aisleway, on the very far right hand side. I felt the volume was just right this time - where as last April (I think we sat 3/4 of the way up near the middle - the volume hurt my ears.)

Wow, thanks everybody for your suggestions and opinions!:D

Based on your answers it sounds like we will:

1. try to sit in the very back (behind the speakers) or down lower & off to the side (under the speakers)

2. bring earplugs for the kids, just in case

3. clean my glasses -- for the clearest possible view of Tarzan's biceps ;)

Thanks for all the advice!

By the way, we too agree that the Lion King show is AWESOME. I didn't like Tarzan Rocks that much when I saw it, as I hadn't seen the movie yet. Now that I've seen the movie (a WONDERFUL must-see; we even bought the soundtrack), I think I will appreciate it much more.

Fact is I love the movie & own it on DVD-
I just didn't like how they turned it into this roller skating loud Starlight Express wannabe......sorry.:(

You're not alone, RalphMouth. I wasn't impressed with the show, either, and I doubt I'll go back. Not to worry, though. There are plenty of others things to enjoy. Right?

Pat

196 days and counting . . . again!

We also didn't care that much for the Tarzan show. Haven't seen it since late 1999 so we are going to do it again this year. Part of our disappointment was that we really loved the Jungle Book show AK had in that theatre before Tarzan.
