What can anyone tell me about it? My Podiatrist is about 80% positive I'm going to need it on my left foot. I also have a neuroma on that foot between my 3rd and 4th toes.
What is the recovery time like? How long were you off work? Did you have to wear a boot and if so, for how long?

:wave2: Caro!

I have had both (big surprise I am sure!) I had the neuroma about 18 years ago and as I recall it wasn't too bad at the time. I was in a post op shoe. The biggest issue is that I now have numbness between the two toes that took some time to adjust to. Now I don't even notice it unless someone or something touches me directly in that spot. But very glad I did it.

Had the tarsal tunnel a few years ago after the 2 PF procedures. It was definitely a harder process. I was non weight bearing for at least 4-6 weeks (can't remember exactly). No weight allowed on the foot at all. I used a knee scooter and that made things much easier than trying to use crutches-- worth every penny of the rental cost! My dr put some sort of anesthetic line into my foot attached to a can or something with local anesthesia that stayed in for 3 days so my foot was numb. I had no pain and after he took it out the pain wasn't too bad. I am sure I probably took some pain meds but can't remember the specifics (which means I probably took some pain meds!). It was also done under twilight anesthesia instead of general so that helped the recovery go better. I was in the boot but I can't tell you the norm of how long since I had so much other stuff going on. But again, it did help immensely with the problem and I am glad I did it. Scars are ugly but I gave up my foot model career years ago ;) :rotfl:

Since I wasn't working I can't tell you much about that but hopefully when you get them done things will get much better. Will they do them both at the same time?

Scrappy! Why am I not surprised I'd get a response from you! :rotfl:
Yes, I would get them done both at the same time. It sounds like overall you did well, but it's not a fun process at all.
My doctor told me I'd be off work 3-6 weeks and in a boot 10-12 weeks. Since I'm on my feet about 50% of the time at work, we'll see how that goes.
Thanks for the info! I may be picking your brain again!
