Off the top of my head...because they can't be vaccinated for medical reasons, because they're immunocompromised , because they have a child too young to be vaccinated, because they live with someone who can't be vaccinated for medical reasons, because they live with someone who's immunocompromised, because they have allergies, etc. There's any number of reasons why someone may be wearing a mask even if it's not required.

No. I wear a mask to protect YOU in case I have covid and have no symptoms, despite being fully vaccinated. Remember, masks don't protect the wearer, they protect people around the wearer from aerosol emissions emitted when you exhale. Just common courtesy in my book.

Generalized fear. Haven't you seen the news pieces where they talk to people wearing masks. They ask if they are vaccinated, and how long ago. For those that were, they ask Why the mask? They got answers like, "I've worn it for so long, I'd feel anxious without it." and "Social Pressure. I'll stop wearing a mask when no one else is". These people all said that they knew they weren't getting it or giving it.

Masks are still required everywhere except outdoors here.

Yes, here still as well. Our provincial state of medical emergency concludes tomorrow and almost all restrictions are being lifted on July 1. The mask mandates though have been municipal jurisdiction enforced through city by-law since the beginning and there has been no indication they are being dropped at this time. But really, who cares?!? Masking is the least of my issues - I’m dying with excitement to get together with friends and family and I don’t care what I have to wear to do it.

I was surprised to see Target here still requiring masks. Big signs up still, and boxes and boxes of masks at the entrance so they clearly know some are not expecting this.

Only places here requiring masks are doctor's offices, as far as I can tell.

The thing that annoys me is that pretty much all fast food places I’ve been to (I’m looking at YOU especially, McDonalds) are still not letting people eat in the dining room. Pick up or drive thru only. I’m so tired of eating in the car!

Our dining rooms in all fast food reopened awhile ago but I remember picking up my daughter last summer in Boston to bring her back to NY we stopped at a cracker barrel and they were doing curbside only and we ate in our car in the back parking lot of the restaurant- chicken and dumplings are NOT a car eating food LOL.
