Target Redcard Debt Card....now what?

Sorry I know that may be a stupid question but I was told to get a target redcard debt card so I did lol. I know I get the 5% back....was approved and it's coming in the mail but looking at the picture on the website it isn't a visa card so i'm guessing I can only use it at target?? Am I going there to purchase Disney gift cards to get the 5% back? IF anyone can fill me in I'd be extremely grateful!

It is not 5% back, it is 5% discount on purchases. In the past people have used it to purchase Disney Gift Cards.

Almost anything you purchase at Target using your debit Red Card gets you a 5% discount.

Yes, you can only use it at Target. Your purchase will ring up regular price, then after you swipe the card, a 5% discount will be applied to your purchase. The discount is good on the purchase of entertainment cards, and Disney gift cards fall into that category. I love mine.

There are no payments involved with the Debit version of the Red Card. It takes the place of your bank's debit card for purchases at Target. You swipe and it takes 5% off your entire purchase (minus Target and Visa gift card purchases). A day or two later it will be debited from your bank account.

With the RedCard, it's nothing you have to "make payments" on. Think of it as another Checking Account Debit Card that is only usable at Target. Your Target purchases will take 5% off the total at the register when you use the Red card as your dedit card. I've found that using the Red card takes a couple of days to post to my checking account, but either way, it'll still come out directly.

Also, yes. Target discounts the 5% on giftcards. So, the $100 Disney giftcards in store actually ring up for $95 once your Red card is applied.

that's what I was meaning.....when I make payments on my Disney vacation I can use the Disney gift cards to do so. Sorry about that
