For our upcoming cruise here is what I did. There is an app for iPad called Disney gift cards, once you pick up the gift cards enter in into the app and it will track your balance on card. After buying all the gift cards and paying off the cruise it will show the balance if at the end of the cruise you get any credit back it will show in the app, you have to refresh the amount by just hitting the refresh button. If you have only a couple gift cards it might not matter, but I have 127, I numbered each gift card with a sharpie and then when you enter it in the app call it the corresponding number and its an easy way to keep track.
Since I drive past two Targets every day on the way to my children's school and my gym, this is a no brainer for me. I'm so glad that I found this thread. We've already paid for our cruise, but we will be doing a pre and post night at WDW, and will use the gift cards for meals and incidentals while there. Even a small savings makes me happy, and I was earlier tonight sitting here thinking about how/when to use that extra 5% pharmacy rewards card that expires on 3/31.
I totally forgot that I could do this! My husband works at Target so 10% off + 5% off for my Red Card. Y'all just made my day. Thanks so much for having this discussion
If your bank will charge you a fee for connecting the Target Debit Card you can open a Target credit card, make the purchase saving the 5% and then immediately go to the guest service counter and pay the bill on the Credit Card with either a check or a debit card.
