Did this happen at any other Target? They ALWAYS have holiday stuff 1/2 off the next day-no matter which holiday. Today most of the candy was only 30% off. I got some gummy things that were half off and the decorations and costumes were. This just irritated me. Then at Walmart they hadn't gotten around to marking down all the stuff yet, so some was 1/2 off, some was full priced!

Must be a local thing. It was 50% off at our store today, but the selection was really really limited. Only a couple of varieties such as MMs loose and Dove Dark. Three bags of double bubble gum and candy corn. That was it. :confused3 I don't know if it got hit first thing or what. CVS on the other hand had a ton left. it was also 50% off.

Ours was only 30% also, it was the same way last year too. Ours had a ton of candy, but no one was buying it at 30%. Pez were 50%, and the Oreos too, but not the good candy.

Most Target stores around here have been only 30% off holiday items for at least a year. They usually go 50% off the following week. I don't know why, most people wait til it's atleast 50 off & I would think they would really want to clear it out.

I live in Texas, and went to two Targets this morning. Both had everything including candy at 50% off.

Our Target was 30% off candy and 50% off the other stuff. Many people were bummed it wasn't 50% off on the candy and I didn't see people buy a whole lot of candy. Costumes, paper towels, and other decor were selling well.

I did get a Thomas Halloween movie (with wooden Haunted Caboose) and the My Friends Tigger and Pooh movie for 30% off. The store had forgotten to take them down and they were still in the Halloween stuff. All of the signs said 30% off back in Halloween, so I was able to get the 30%. They pulled the movies after I checked out.

Target was 30% on candy unless it was in Halloween packaging, 50% on everything else. Walmart here was 50% on some of the Halloween stuff but not candy. I was surprised at how much stuff at Walmart was still full price including Halloween novelties and even some costumes, it was very random what was marked down and what wasn't.

Our Target was only 30% too. I didn't see many people buying it either.

I felt it was such a rip-off because the candy was on sale for $2.50 all weekend, but then today it was full price at $2.99 but then 30% off. That's really not much savings over what I bought it for on Friday.

My mom called me and told her her Wal-Mart had candy 50% off, but at mine hardly any of it was marked down yet. My husband found a bag of Mounds for half off, but everything I was interested in was still full price. :confused3

30% here too and not happy! I bought a bunch of candy but sorry I did. It was cheaper at Walmart, drug stores and even the grocery stores! Won't go there after holidays again!

My Walmart said everything was 50%, but that some was not ringing up. I guess it had to be input through corporate, and they didn't do it all. They were overriding the prices at the register.

Dollar General was only 25%, what is up with that?

my target was 50 and Walgreen's was 75% off! woooohooo! I didn't buy any candy...but I got lotsa other stuff.

Same thing happened to me. I was SO mad to get there at 8:00 and find 30% off signs everywhere. BUT, most of everything scanned was 50%. Though now that I think of it, I didn't get any candy......just paper towels, placemats, and ziplock bags. All that did ring up 50%.

Went on to Walmart, scored 3 HUGE boxes of individually wrapped Doritos for $2.50 each--great for lunchboxes. They don't expire until 1/12/10, and I'm sure they'll be gone by then.
2 boxes of indivually wrapped "fruit by the foot" and mini granola bars. Again, all for lunchboxes.

CVS was 50% off, but they had very little left. My guess is that the stores bought less this year, so they have less to get rid of. If that is the case, I'm sure they're thinking "let's not take that much off and see if we can clear the inventory by giving less off." I have a feeling that the same thing will happen with Christmas this year, where less will be available after the holiday, so less savings.

Also, candy is a little bit different, because unless it's specifically labeled for Halloween, it has just as much value after the holiday than it did before (i.e. it can be used for Christmas, etc.)

you guys are making me want to get to these stores.

:lmao: We were just in the store for candy on Halloween, when it was already marked down some arbitrary percentage. After a glance at what the prices were at this discounted rate, I thought they didn't jive with my pricebook from last time I bought candy, so I left for the regular candy aisle rather than the seasonal aisle and, sure enough, the ordinary candies, before any discount, were far cheaper than the often identical candy in the other aisle. We double-checked when they tried to ring it up at the Halloween candy price, and had them put it right. Those seasonal "deals" are so often rip offs. They were already selling Christmas stuff at a supposed discount! I've become skeptical of anything a "discounter" claims.

Our candy was 30%, too. Lame!

One Homeland had all candy $1 a bag!! We loaded up. Spent around $30 on candy to use for stocking stuffers, Christmas gifts, etc. The other Homeland was only 50% off.

Our Target was 30% yesterday but 50% today. Got DD an Ariel costume for next year (or future trips to WDW) and an Elizabeth Swan pirate costume for pirate night on DCL. Also got tons of Disney goodies meant for trick-or-treat (crayons, stickers, tattoos) that will be great goodies for long car trips or ride lines and several Disney Halloween DVDs. Also got DH lots of orange stuffed oreos. Got some of everyone's favorite candy as well - all were 50% off.

I stopped by Target today and everything was 50% off and they had virtually nothing left! I did better at Kroger where employees were still marking things down when I got there.

I didn't notice if the candy was 50 or 30, but I saved $40 on $83 worth of Halloween decorations today! Woo

We had NO decorations this year. It was really sad!
