Target new glitch

I have over 30 GC for our upcoming trip. Not looking forward to calling in every card to double check but I'd rather find out now than after we leave in a week and end up stuck.

I think this holiday season Target was way more concerned with how to keep shoppers from using coupons to buy "entertainment" cards. They should have focused more on keeping our financial information secure, and making sure any gift cards that were purchased were properly activated. Just sorry, sorry management on Target's part.:sad2:
Wonder what Target's next glitch is gonna be???

We bought hundreds of dollars in Disney GCs at Target recently and just used them to pay off our cruise. All worked fine! Hopefully the same will be true for you!

Hopefully, you will be luckier than me.
If you bought them in a store, it will be an easy fix if they are not activated. If you bought them online, then Good Luck getting someone in India(or wherever they are) to help you.:confused3

If I'm reading the article correctly, customers are having problems using Target store gift cards, not "entertainment" cards.

I was about to say that I read a few more articles and it seems to be an issue with the Target GCs. I have activation numbers for each card (just matched them all up) so I think I'm fine. May double check a few just to be sure.

This particular issue is with Target gift cards, but I have had problems with Disney gift cards purchased thru Target online. Anything is possible at this point with Target.

There is a website on the back of your Disney cards to check the balance.

All you have to do is download the Disney gift card app on your phone and enter your cards. It will tell you if the cards have a balance or not.

Is this still only available for iphones? Thanks.

I gave target GC's to all the teachers for Christmas. I think I had 6 in all. I hope they are all fine. I would hate to think the teachers thought I gave them an unactivated card!

It is interesting though that when DS was picking out which designs he wanted to give the cashier told him to avoid the snowman designed one as they were having problems getting that activated correctly. We didn't take that one on her advice. Of course they had them at every register though so I am sure plenty of other people chose that one and maybe didn't have a cashier that was as friendly and knowledgeable as ours!

I wonder if the problem is just with Target gift cards actually bought at Target or Target gift cards bought elsewhere. I gave each of my great nieces and nephews Target gift cards. But I bought them at Kroger's, to take advantage of the 4X fuel points.

I buy all my Target gift cards at the grocery store to earn gas rewards. I have not had any problems with those, yet.

Now, that's scary!!!
Glad she gave you the helpful advice.

I just checked the balance on 4 Target gift cards I have at target.com/giftcards and they all had the correct balance! :thumbsup2

Better described as "...the week following Black Friday, Target's marketing department (not to be confused with finance or security) sucessfully offered a promotion in which they didn't lose 17% or more per transaction, necessitated by many customers' refusal realize that the RedCard and Pharmacy ongoing promotions are entirely discrete from a coupon..."

I'm glad somebody said what I was thinking. :thumbsup2

Maybe they could pull some of that talent from the Marketing Dept and put them to work in finance, security & customer service.
