Target gift cards

Unfortunately, I fill many prescriptions and participate in the Target Pharmacy Program. Just wanted to make a teeny, tiny correction in your post.....For every 5 prescriptions you fill, Target will mail you out a 5% of shopping pass, valid for a day like you mentioned.

I wish you got a 5% discount pass for each prescription you filled....I'd be buying out the store!

Found them yesterday buried in the electronics section! Only in $50's though. I wanted $1500 to pay for all our food on our next trip. Too risky to carry that many gift cards so I'll just buy them at Walgreens!

I was at a Target on the weekend and they didn't seem to carry them either. Looked at me like I was nuts. On the other hand, I was at Office Max and needed to spend $5 to get a free composition book. My DD desperately wanted it (although she has LOTS of notebooks already at home). I only had to buy a $1.79 gold sharpie there and refused to spend unnecessary money to get free books. Then I saw they had Disney gift cards. I needed to pick up a $50 one anyway so I got one. they gave me 5 free composition books and my DD was in heaven.

Hmmm ... I wonder if Office Max treats speciality gift cards differently than their own like target does. There is a $5 off $25 coupon out there right now ... could it be used on Disney cards?? I know it says no gift cards, but target coupons says the same and they still work on entertainment cards.

DH is at work tonight and he checked to see if they are discontinued. He said that the $25 gift cards have been discontinued, but the $50 ones are still active.

So, it looks like they will be okay. for at least awhile longer.

Thanks so much for the info CatNip. It is great to know that we have a "go to" person for all things Target!!

BTW, I just got back from one of our local Targets and they still have quite a few $25 cards...guess I should grab some of those small values while I am able!! It makes it a little easier to slip those into a purchase than the $50 which hits the pocketbook a little harder.

Wow, I guess if I find any at our Target I need to grab a few here and there for souvenirs and such before they do away with all the $25.00 ones.

My local Target has never had the $25 denominations....only the $50 gift cards. Just picked up a couple more with my 10% discount!

FYI, with the 5% Pharmacy rewards, it is NOT on a single transaction but all transactions for the entire day. I bought all the $50 GC at my local store and was able to go to a different store use the same rewards card to get the extra 5% off.

Also, Sam's Club has $25 and $50 GCs for a slight discount, like 1-2% in my area, if you really need the $25 and can't find them at Target. I personally have never seen the $25 at my local Target but then I wasn't looking too hard either.

I picked up 3 yesterday w/my employee discount, 5% Red Card discount & the 5% pharmacy discount!! Woo hoo!!!

Also a good deal(actually a better savings then the 5%)if you have a Kroger that does fuel points, right now ours has earn 4x the fuel points with gift card purchase, so I get a $200 gift card and then I get .80 off each gallon of gas, I wait until my take is dead on E and then fill up, I save on average $16+when I do this, plus when I put it on my ChaseFreedom card I get another %1 (sometimes %5 if gas is the quarterly bonus)
