Target Clearance this year

My Target was pretty much picked over at 50%, except for wrapping paper. I don't need that since I'm still pretty well stocked from 3 Christmases ago. The only things I found worth buying were some boxes of Puffs.

I have been there every day and will keep going. I am looking for the legos and mega blocks set. They had Hello kitty mega blocks on clearance and DD will love those as a Valentine or easter gift!

something else I noticed was my target isn't selling the christmas red/green storage bins for storing your Christmas decorations. In past years, as a Christmas aisle cleared, they filled the shelves with these so the store would looked stocked. This year, they have just cleared the aisles, and there is nothing on these shelves. I looked everywhere including the the storage bin aisle, and there are no Christmas colored ones. I guess it is something that lasts so long, that once you have them, you have them....maybe not a big seller anymore? Of course I haven't needed any in years, but this year I do since I have accumulated more stuff.

I miss my old Target.

My Target had those bins but they were sold out before Christmas.

Another thing I noticed this year that was strange....on Christmas Eve I was out of gift boxes and had a few more things to wrap so I went to Target to get them....they were sold out. I asked two clerks and they both said they didn't have them, and one said he didn't think they ever got them in. I was shocked since every year they seem to have a bunch of them on clearance. SO I go back the day afte rChristmas to see what is on 50% off and they have SHELVES full of gift boxes!!!??? They shipped them in just for the clearance sale? I think they are shifting things to different stores for clearance. Weird.

i went back to target today (still 70%) and i actually found 2 halloween books, Olivia & Fancy Nancy, just thrown in one of the bins. I scanned them and it read "item not found" so i brought it to costumer service and got them both for 50 cents each. That's my kind of deal :thumbsup2

I went to two of ours this weekend, and they both had a ton left. One was even still unpacking boxes of stuff that never made it onto the floor before Christmas. I bought less than $20 worth of stuff, though. I would've bought more if it were 75% instead of 70%. I know it's only 5%, but it's a mental thing. Oh, well, saves me money!! ;)

Yes, they do. I have been watching for the past year or so, and one of my Targets is usually empty of all holiday stuff, but the other one keeps unpacking things right up until it reaches 90% off. IMHO, you need to find which one gets everything and go there.

I went today and most of it was 70% off, but some bagged candy was still at 50% and some Pillsbury cake mix was only 15%. i got Santa suits and toys for my dogs, plus some cookies that were super cheap.

Cinnamon M&Ms? Never tried them...y'all are making me want to go hunting now...not good! :rotfl:

I got several rolls of scotch tape for 20 cents each. Normally, they were $2.00. However, the scotch tape was not in the christmas section, it was in the stationary section. You have to look for the scotch tape that has the preprinted price on it. They only have that tape during the Christmas season. And it is usually in the Christmas section. However, someone stocked it in the wrong area.

One thing they had that was cool were those Hex Bugs in little ornaments for $1.50.

Santa gave one of those to my son for Christmas. He loves it and I tried to go back to get more but our Target was all out. Darn. One warning, though, buy batteries for the Hex Bugs, too. My son got 5 for Christmas and all 5 ran out of batteries in the first 48 hours. We ordered a pack of 50 from Amazon.

As for our Target clearance, I scored 2 Ninjago Lego sets, regularly $50 for $34. I was thrilled to get them both for my son's birthday in March.

I don't know how often you were in the store (I have one about a half-mile from me, so I am there, a lot) -- since the remodels (as the asiles which formerly held holiday storage now holds bath towels, or something similar), the holiday storage bins were sold on pallets as you came-through the front door and headed towards the fitting room). This all happened on Monday morning, December 26 -- my store was sold-out by the end of the day.

Obviously, that's Target's new game plan, as they lose money if they hold anything too long (and it goes to 70-90% off).

Our Targets had a fairly small and dismal Christmas section this year to begin with. All the standard wrapping paper was the really wide rolls, which I hate. I don't mind having one roll like that, but for the bulk of the stuff I wrap, it's a pain. There was almost nothing left at 50% off.

What Ninjago sets were they? I'm looking for the dojo one and missed it at Walmart when it went on clearance.

We got the dojo and the battle arena. I was in there today and they had 1 dojo and several battle arenas. Good luck finding them :)

Thanks! I was at my Target yesterday and they didn't even have the dojo set. I was thinking of going to the next closest one about 30 minutes away to check the Christmas clearance. I've always had good luck there finding hidden things in the regular aisles so maybe I'll get lucky and find the dojo.

I checked Kmart yesterday too and their dojo sey was still $55 but I did find the Creator Apple Tree House and it scanned $11.50 :cool1:

Two of ours hit 90% today. The third one we checked was still at 70%. Lots of stuff left at the two that went 90%. I got gift bags, wrapping paper, a few shirts/baby outfits, stocking stuffers (sets of hair accessories, Cars PEZ, mini princess dolls, etc.) and even a Snapware case. The case wasn't supposed to be on clearance, but it had a chip in the lid, so they gave it to me for $.79!! Even if the lid breaks, we have a ton of Snapware to which we can add the compartments.
