Definitely correct that Canadian Targets do not sell Disney gift cards, but why do you assume that if they did, you couldn't use them at WDW?

The ones that are for sale in US Targets can definitely be used at WDW, as well as Disney Cruise, so just wondering what you are referring to?

Gift cards bought in one country are hardly ever valid in another due to exchange rate fluctuation. They do t want to lose money if you buy them and the. The rate goes up

My guess is that it refers to the fact that a Canadian Target would sell gift cards in Canadian funds, which would thus likely only be useable in a Canadian Disney Store. Most gift cards sold in Canada can only be used in Canada, even if the chain has US stores...

I wasn't making an assumption, I have asked at the Disney store here if Canadian Disney gift cards could be used in WDW and I was told no by the manager.

Yes, I understand that, but Target Canada does not sell US gift cards at all, so that is why I asked.

And some retailers do allow cross border gift cards, as we have done it at a few stores.

See above. We have used some gift cards in Canada and US with no issues: Starbucks, Old Navy and Toys R Us.

Interesting, but this hardly makes sense. That means Canadian Disney gift cards are only to be used in Canadian Disney stores? There are only a few stores in the whole country, so I can't imagine this is correct.

Do they not sell WDW tickets at Canadian Disney stores? These can be used at WDW. I just can't imagine this is correct.

At this time, Target Canada does not sell Disney gift cards and I don't imagine they will as the gift card section is very small.

Gift Cards are different than theme park tickets, as with gift cards you are putting money on to a card to be used later.

Yes, I understand the difference between the two cards.

Still doesn't make sense how they would be selling gift cards to be used only at a few select stores in the whole country. It is Disney though, and some of their policies do not make sense. LOL!

I questioned it because it sounded like other poster had direct knowledge about Target, but it was about Disney gift cards, specifically.

Like I said, we have used cross border gift cards before, so I thought it important to get clarification.

Thanks, Tiger

Yes it's annoying but the Disney gift cards don't cross borders.
