I have read where you can buy Disney Gift/entertainment cards at Target. When you put them on you Target card you save 5% which is quite alot on a $10,000 vacation. My question is.....Is there a max amount of cards that can be used and is there any restrictions on what they can be used for? Disney Cruise, Resort, Park tickets, etc etc:firefight

I dont think there are restrictions on how many you an use but more about how many you can buy. I have heard alot about the initial purchase being denied at Target...

We have the Debit Card and just bought $2200 work of Gift Cards this week with the 5% plus 5% discount.

But, I know other people have had problems with large purchases. Can you buy some and then buy some again at a later time?

I typically buy them in batches of $300-$500 at a time. Last trip I had $2,500 (which didn't last long between buying an annual pass, paying for a group of 14 people to eat at Biergarten and Ohana's, the TIW card, and our stay at the Polynesian).

I've found that not all the Targets in my area carry the Disney gift cards.

I like saving the money, but you have to be somewhat organized keeping up with so many cards. I would take only a few at a time with me to the parks and keep the others in the room safe. Having a Sharpie on hand helps too with keeping track of what cards are used and how much is left on them.

When we checked into the Polynesian (at the club level area) it took FOREVER to pay for the room. We only stayed here two nights before transferring to OKW so it was only like $460 left to pay, but those 9 cards took a long time to go through. At least the guy was friendly, but I felt bad taking up his time for so long when so many people were checking in.

Can you pay for TIW with Disney Card? We lost ours unfortunately and have to replace :(.

Yep! I went to Guest Relations and bought one with a Disney gift card.

Also, other places you can use the cards is for Photopass (even on the preorders), special event tickets (Christmas/Halloween party) and almost all snack/drink kiosks throughout the parks :thumbsup2.

What were the two 5% discounts? I know one is for using the target card. What was the other for?
Also, how does the target card work? I thought that is was a credit card then someone mentioned it worked as a debit. :confused3

Most likely pharmacy discount for prescription purchases

IF you sign up for target's pharmacy rewards, you get a 5% off certificate after filling 5 prescriptions that can be used at the same time as your Target credit/debit card discount.
You can choose to either get a credit or debit card.
