So, when you earn a Pharmacy 5% off they send you a 2nd coupon for 5% off at Target.com. Can you use your Red Card and a Target.com %5 off Pharmacy Reward at Target.com to get 10% off Diz GC???

Yes, but t's not truly 10% off. They take off the 5% then they take off the second the 5%. So your final cost on a $50 card will be $45 and some change (around 13 cents).

I tried to use the Pharmacy Rewards code at Target.com to make a Disney GC purchase and I got a warning that "the items in your cart do not meet the minimum requirements for the promotion you entered". This happens regardless of the amount of GCs that I put in my cart.

I added a regular item ($2 sunscreen) and it applied the discount to just it and not to the GCs, so I know that the code itself is valid.

So, from what I can see, the Pharmacy Rewards do not work online to get 5% off of the GCs.

Well, darn. I bid on one at eBay just before reading this post. Now I hope I get outbid. Lol.

Maybe it varies from location to location or by state? We just came back from DLR and I used both my 5% red card discount and the 5% pharmacy discount twice in the weeks prior to our departure for Disney Gift cards. I bought $1,500 each time saving just around $300.

Hopefully the policy hasn't changed since my purchases in mid May.

ETA: Just realized PPs were talking about Target.com and not the physical store. I have never done it at Target.com only in the actual store. Sorry I should have read more closely. Too bad it doesn't work the same way online.

Yes, looking at Target.com. Ebates would give me another couple percent back from .com.

But your post is interesting. When Target puts out their $10 off $50 deal out in December, it would be worth buying a Pharmacy 5% discount coupon on eBay. Tha Target Debit/Credit card takes the price of a $50 Disney Gift Card down to $38. The Pharmacy coupon would take it to $36. 28% off Disney. Thanks for the idea.

ETA: I have never used a Pharmacy 5% coupon before. It appears that for online purchases, it's just good for one transaction. For in store purchases, I am not sure if it would only be good for one transaction or if it is good for the entire day. If it's good just for one transaction, then it's not worth the time to get it.

The in-store coupon is good for the entire day (say so right on it). They hand it back to you after they scan it at the register in case you want to use it again.

Thanks. then definitely it's worth it. The only downside to this is that you end up with plenty of $50 Disney Gift Cards. Consolidating them takes some effort, including calling the number on the back of the card to reach a cast member, scanning the back of the card and the receipt to buy each one and emailing that to the cast member.

The extra 5% Pharmacy Rewards definately works in the store. Also, if you are a Target Team Member, you get 10% off in addition. So a $50 GC with a 10% team member discount, a 5% red card discount and a 5% Pharmacy Rewards discount costs $40.62.

It may not work on line, but I do it in the store with no problem. I usually speak with the manager first, because the debit card has a "limit" but they let you use your regular debit card with the discount as long as you ask. I get over 2000 at a time, pay for my whole vacation with it, all my dining, my dvc dues, etc. Saves me a bunch of money!

I saw this thread and we went to Target that night. We were told the discount cannot be used on gift cards with the Target Debit/Credit card. Am I missing something??

It works. Just don't ASK if it works. :) The answer is usually "no". But if you just go through checkout and use your discount cards, the discount comes off. The thing is that Disney cards are "entertainment cards" in Target's system, so the rule about the discount not being able to be used on "gift cards" doesn't apply to Disney cards. Alot of Target team members don't know that difference. To avoid them speaking up and saying, "You can't use that on this purchase", I usually buy a couple of other things as part if the transaction. Then they don't question it.

I just tried to get the RX reward to work for the gift cards online and got the same message as PP. I looked at the back of the slip of paper the code is printed on and it says " can not be redeemed for prescription drugs, target gift cards and prepaid cards...." so if appears they have work the online system around this. I hope that they do not do this in the stores any time soon.

Don't ask. Just do it. It will work on Disney gift cards.:thumbsup2

I had a problem with the $50 cards, because when I was buying my tickets for MNSSHP they would only accept two at a time. So then I called the number in the back of the card, and they said that they do not consolidate the tickets.

I had to use 7 cards to buy my tickets. I had to buy 4 adult and 1 child, but the lady I got was very nice. It was really not a big deal to buy each ticket individual, I just have 5 confirmation numbers to keep up with.
