Target 20% coupon ?.... not Disney GC related

Does anyone know for sure how the 20% coupon works when using target gift cards for payment. Let's say I'm buying $100 worth of stuff and I have a $50 gift card to use.... will it take the 20% off making my total $80 and I can use the GC so only pay $30 OOP or will it take off the $50 GC first then figure the 20% on the other $50 making my OOP $40?

On my receipt the 20% comes off first. Then they apply the Red Card discount, then add tax. The payment is applied to the grand total.

Eta-using a gift card as payment should be no different than using cash.

yes I did a bunch of printed coupons, cartwheel, and the10 off 40 coupon and used 20% no issues................I did not try for GC

I was able to combine Cartwheel and a text coupon that Target sent me, but the latter didn't work properly and it took two managers and three cashiers about 30 min to figure out that it wasn't working properly and to override the computer. Cartwheel also didn't work properly and didn't take off everything I was entitled to. But they are combinable, even if they aren't working 100% correctly.
