Target 10% off - GC's included?

How's it going? Any experiences to share? I'm going later today.

I'm happy with how we did. The normal Target sales on things like hot dogs, detergent, etc. were still running so it was 10% off after the sale price of those items and then 5% off the grand total with my RedCard. I wasn't sure what to expect, I was watching if they cut off some sales or did any price gouging in anticipation of consumers getting 10% off but I didn't notice anything like that. I bought items on sale, I bought one "buy 3 get a gift card" thing, normal priced items- everything (except the Disney gift card) got the discount. I'm happy we went. The store was practically empty at like 9am when I went, people weren't exactly flocking to our Target this morning. But it is a Sun, maybe it will pick up this afternoon.

I know it is a long shot, but has anyone tried buying a Disney gc to confirm that you don't get the 10% off?

no gc will qualify... just tried to buy a tmobile card, wont work. tried adding another item to see if that qualifies with it, no dice either.

just got back from target--the girl tried 4 times to get the discount to go through but couldnt so she said if I wanted to pay cash she could give me the employee discount--which i did so I got a $50 GC for $28.50--tat was using one of those $5 with purchase that target does once in awhile

I was real happy

wanted to add I wonder if I bring it up to another cashier that theyd give me the discount if I pay cash--I guess its worth a try

Gift cards are excluded. That's why she couldn't get it to go through.

Wow. She seriously screwed up. I really hope a supervisor doesn't catch what she did! $50 gift card for $33.50 when gift cards are obviously excluded if she had just read the coupon. Kudos to you though! That's serious savings. But I can't see lightening striking twice on this one.

Well, that was a bust. I looked on their site yesterday, and they had their Apple Watches on sale for $249. Was going to wait until today to get the extra 10% (and 5% redcard) and buy one for my older dd for Christmas. But today, they're back up to the full price, so I could've gotten it cheaper yesterday, :( I'm going to wait till closer to Christmas now, cause I have a feeling they're going to discount them more than the $249.

We ordered a new ipad online (mine finally died). DH was pretty excited to get it at a discount. Also ordered a few other things that we had needed to get. I'm happy with the sale.

A little later in the morning I was able to get all of the online discounts to go thru. I stocked up on children's Allegra and a few other items that they usually run out of online and then hit the store. At the store - our original total was $515...then they did paper coupons, cartwheel, and the 10% off, and then redcard...got the total down to $422...

We stocked up on their new school water bottles, allergy meds for the family, and toothbrushes to name a few items...

Thanks for sharing this sale!

Im not expecting to get this deal again--it was sure nice though--we were talking about how she bought $600 worth of GC with SW but she had to put each ressie separetly what we dont do to save money

it was fun though

That's crazy! I've never heard of a Target being closed on a Sunday. That's too bad!

It's this old blue law that prevents unnecessary retail from being open on Sundays. It's crazy annoying because traffic is out of control on Saturdays as are the stores, but on Sunday all you can get are groceries. The really odd part is they built a Michael's in the same plaza as Target and they are allowed to be open for some bizarre reason. Anyways, Target does promotions on Sundays and I don't think this location can do them on Monday as this type of thing is programmed into the system. When they used to do those coupon books I could sometimes get them on Monday as the staff would seem to just scatter them around the store for people to grab.

I was going to use online but it wouldn't work with online clearance and I didn't need anything else so I just decided anything I would buy would be an impulse buy.

How can that law still exist?! I am flabbergasted. To each city its own and all but man, that's rough. Although now I want to open a Target on the other side of your city line :)

Not to politicize this thread, but they still exist because government is slow, inefficient, and bureaucratic. If you think it's hard to get a law passed, it's twice as hard to get it off the books.

Michael's might be able to open on Sundays because it is classified as a different type of business than Target. when Blue laws were still in force here in MA, Christmas Tree Shops was able to open on Sundays as it was considered a "gift shop"

Didn't want to make another thread but last night, i went to Target. Brought in a $25 gc with me, ended up spending $27. Used the remaining on my redbird card. did not get the 5% off. I think some rules are changing... probably will no longer carry my redbird card...

anyone know whats going on?
