Don't know if you all saw this but I just used this to purchase my kids' backpacks and lunch boxes. It isn't good for gift cards unfortunately (as least I couldn't do it).

I used it for one backpack and two lunch boxes and what would have been $52+ with tax came out to $34.64 after purchasing a gift card at Cardpool through TopCashBack with 1% back on my credit card and 2% for Cardpool/TopCashBack, then using that gift card at Target through TopCashBack for another 5% back AND my Target RedCard discount. Phew. That was a lot but it all took me only 5 minutes to do! :thumbsup2

And if you read the fine print, it is good for up to 4 offers - meaning you can do 4 separate $40 offers and get $10 off each of them. Did it last night and stocked up on household things like paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products, dishwasher soap, etc. Now just waiting for my emails that say the orders are ready to be picked up!!!

I've been wondering about this...does the target redcard discount only apply to what you charge over and above the giftcard you are using or does the discount somehow get applied to the entire purchase amount even if the giftcard covers the entire purchase?

As I've learned to my regret...it only applies to the amount over the GC purchase amount. So if calculating your projected final cost before going to the store make sure to deduct the gift card amount, then multiply by .05.

Anyone know when this offer ends?

This is only true for in store purchases. If it is purchased online, you will receive 5% the entire purchase no matter how you pay as long as you are signed in to your RedCard account.

The trick is to enter your red card information FIRST and then choose to pay by gift card.

I've been doing this deal this week. But as an employee I know how overwhelmed my own store is getting. I have figured out that as long as you have $10 worth of items going to be picked up at the store, you can have everything else delivered to your house (remember red card holders get free shipping!) and still get the discount. So I have been doing that.

Diapers are popular gift card offer this week. I don't have diapered kids, so I have been stocking up on Bounty paper towels. And ordering the school supplies online (rather than hunting through the BTS bins at the store myself)

Thank you for your hard work in getting our orders together! I placed my order at about 8 this morning and it was ready an hour later :)

I wish my school would send out the lists already. Last year it seemed our school was the only school in the area to give lists out AFTER school had already started and there wasn't much to choose from and not such great deals. :worried:

Just got back from picking up our items and received another coupon for $5 off a $50 in store purchase. Sweet!

Thanks for the suggestions and reminders about this! I had already bought my DS's backpack a few days ago and I always keep the tags and receipts in case it goes on sale, he changes his mind, etc. so this helped me save another $10 - awesome sauce!

I'll simply return the one I bought the other day, once I've picked up the other items and confirm no issues.

Thanks again for the tips everyone!

Heather

Can you use Cartwheel, Target coupons, and manufacturer coupons when you pick up? I noticed it said you can do price match and that you're not charged until you pick up. I don't know if Target coupons would mess up the $40 threshold though. I live a ways from Target so for me it will only be worth it if I can stack discounts.

No. You pay for your order online, not in the store. And coupons/cartwheel do not work online.

When you go to pick up, you only show your id. No financial transactions whatsoever.

I had a big list of household/ bts stuff. So I divvy d what to buy online with this deal vs what to buy in store. Some things are cheaper online. The Jansport backpack my daughter wanted was $4.00 cheaper online for example.

Deal ends Saturday. Today at my store we were giving out $5 off $50 in store purchase when you came to pick up your online order (coupons while supply lasts)

I dont think thats always the case. I bought a $100 camera online with gift cards and my red card. I figured it would be a discount of $5 after my red card discount and instead after I entered the the gift cards I had instead a discount of around 50¢ my red card is stored in my account so it is automatically entered when I log in. The discount recalculated each time I entered a gift card. (I had $90 in $5 gc).

I believe that has changed. Nowadays Target only allows you to use 4 gift cards on one purchase. So your scenerio of $90 in $5 gift cards would no longer work. The website may have changed since you last made a gift card purchase.

I have made 4 different transactions this week. Each time I acted like I was going to use my red card. Each time it calculated the discount. Then I went to "edit payment" and asked it to pay the balance in gift cards. Never once did the total due change.

If anyone needs diapers, this is a great deal. I got two jumbo packs of Up and Up diapers (about 300 for size 4) which you get $10 gift card with purchase so after the $10 off $40 it ended up to only be about 10-11 cents a diaper after gift card! The gift card will either be emailed or mailed to you after you pick up the diapers from Target.

If you don't want Up and Up brand Pampers has a quite good offer with this as well.

Thank you! I'd come out ahead just buying what I want online and having it shipped to me (instead of $10 off $40) because of time/gas!

I did the Pampers deal. $10 off for store pick up plus a $20 gift card. I went during a slow time to pick up the order about three hours after I got a text that it was ready and had to wait for the order to be located in the back, then they forgot the one other item I ordered, so the clerk asked me what it was, went to that aisle in the store and brought it back to me while I waited. I had to ask for a bag for the smaller item and then had to ask about finalizing the transaction. I think my local store needs a little bit of training to get the process down. Because I had time that day, it wasn't a big deal, but I wouldn't feel like it was worth the $10 if that type of service is the norm.

I ended up placing 4 orders last night to pick up this morning. We are having our second baby and I have been buying things we need little by little each month.

I ended up with

-1 30lb bag of Purina One for our German Shepherd(was going to pick it up at the store anyway)

-infant bath tub

-diaper pail (arm and hammer brand of diaper genie)

-refills for diaper pail

-3 pck avent bottles

- 2 large packs of pampers sensitive wipes (448 ct or something like that, trying to stock up on wipes since I know the ones I want and am unsure of which diapers I will need)

-bottle drying rack

-boppy pillow (will get a $10 gift card back once it comes in the email)

-3 pck clorox wipes

I think that's it. Total would have been around $170 but with the $40 off plus 5%red card discount I spent around $120 plus a $10 gift card earned. I was planning on getting it all anyway so I'm happy.

I picked it up this morning with no issues(didn't get the coupon). The only part that wasn't good was the website had major issues checking out all night yesterday but I just kept refreshing every few minutes while watching tv last night. If I actually had a limited amount of time last night I would have stopped at one order b/c I would have ripped my hair out trying to check out.

Is there a code to enter? I can't find it on the website.
