Tapping into EPCOT then heading to Studios

We're arriving at YC earlier than expected on Day 1 (which is a Saturday). Depending on whether room is ready we'll be ready to head to a park by 2:00, maybe later. I made park reservation for EP, but am now thinking of knocking out a big attraction at HS, taking time with two boys to explore Galaxy's Edge when not rushing from ride to ride, and having dinner at Docking Bay 7. I suppose it's ok to swipe into EP, then turn around and hop on Skyliner to go to Studios??? I know Skyliner takes longer but also doing that when not in a hurry seems like a fun Day 1 thing to do - we used to make sure to ride monorail on Day 1. With EP closing later, we can always head back there when HS closes.

can you just switch your park reservation to HS? you can still hop to epcot later if you have hoppers.

Your plan is just fine. I agree that taking the Skyliner would be a great start to the trip, and unless there are major changes to hopping availability you should be good to go immediately to DHS after tapping into Epcot.

Sounds great!

Agree with the others; if HS is available, just make it your day’s reservation.

I would switch the reservation to HS if there's still availability. It is easier to hop to Epcot than HS.

Thanks all. No HS availability on Saturdays during the month of April. Looks like we'll be hopping.

Just a reminder you can't enter HS until after 2 PM should you arrive early and hit Epcot before then.

Option of walking from EP to HS also if you want. About 15-20 from the IG to HS. Nice walk along the lake/canal. Hint: take the short cut by the BW pool.

I don't think that there has been any reports of not being able to hop to a park. They recommend calling ahead though to verify there is space for park hopping

If HS has no availability, can you hop to it later? Does no availability mean no hopping either?
Park reservation availability has pretty much nothing to with hopping. There hasn't been a day yet where hopping wasn't allowed to any park.
A poster above mentioned that it would be easier to hop to Epcot than to HS, but I'm not quite sure why they would say that.
