Taping of Very Merry Christmas Parade

The last two years we have been to WDW during the taping of the Christmas Parade in the Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know when they plan on taping this year?

Silly question...isn't it live the morning of Christamas? I know we were talking about going last year Christmas morning but didn't want to get up that early, glad we didn't if it's not live.

Actually it is taped in early December for broadcast on Christmas day. I don't know how you find the dates though.

We were there the week after Thanksgiving last year and they called guests at the Monorail resorts (at least) to let them know they would be taping the parade for the TV show starting at 8AM on Saturday (Dec 7, I think). We got there early and were part of the 'crowd' for the taping of the scenes as they approached the large Xmas tree. There was additional taping throughout the day, with all the celebs and a special day time version of the Christmas parade.

It was fun, and proved to be enough of a distraction for some that the Saturday crowd didn't seem quite a big as it might have.

I'm hoping they will be taping it the weekend of Dec 5-7th!! That's when we'll be there! I think the last 2 years, its been taped the first full weekend in December! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

We were there during taping last year (first week of Dec.) and they also notified guests at other resorts. We were staying at the YC.

We were in the MK that morning and chose not to stay for the parade. It was soooooooo crowded and we weren't really in the mood to stake out a space and wait for hours.
