Why did they discontinue this parade? How old was it? I just saw this on the Travel channel. They need to update their episodes since they don't have this or the lady bug release anymore. CM must get tired of people asking when these things are happening.

My dd remarked on that also!!! She said she really misses that particular parade. It was there in 2001 but stopped shortly after that, if I remember correctly. I wish they would have some kind of parade again in Epcot.

They actually changed it to Tapestry of Nations for 2002 (we saw it in December that year.) I believe WDW discontinued it in late 2003.

You've got them flip-flopped. :) It was the Tapestry of Nations, and then became Tapestry of Dreams. It had its last performance in March of 2003.

So, do I understand this correctly???
There is not a parade at Epcot anymore?????

No parades at Epcot.

Unless you count the parade of people heading out after Illuminations. :)

I have to agree. We saw the parade in '02, and loved it. I was hoping my parents would have gotten to see it last summer, but it was gone. My dad is a percussionist, and would have loved the percussive nature of it. Another band I miss very much is the Tomorrow Land Countdown Band. Those guys were awesome. I also like Future Corps that was in Epcot, another lost great show group. The good ones are gone way too soon. IMO

When we were on the Illuminations cruise, the CM told us that Disney discontinued it because it was too costly. I think he said that the costumes (especially the puppets) needed much too much maintenance-they didn't hold up. But, according to him, there have been so many guest comments that Disney is considering rolling out a new parade similar to Tapestry in a year or 2.

Wasn't there a side issue of the crowds getting "stuck" in the nations during the parade?

I like the parade, love the music, and would enjoy seeing a parade again in Epcot.

This was my absolute favorite parade of all time and place! It was so unusual and hypnotic! I loved the interaction with the puppets and the characters. I'm so sad and disappointed that it's gone.

Unless you count the parade of people heading out after Illuminations.

ROFL That's hilarious! :rotfl:
