I ran a day early in my training program so I could run a Resolution Run yesterday. Now I only have a 3 and 2 miler left in my program before the half. Should I throw in one more run? It just doesn't seem like much... :confused3

I ran a 5K yesterday. Taking off today and Saturday. Planning on the 3 miler Sunday and then my 2 miler on Wednesday since we leave early Thursday morning. I can't run Monday, but I could do an extra run on Tuesday... Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Sahn, go out on Tuesday and drop a 20 minute run in the plan. I have found that if you stray way too much from usual training schedule you come to the race a bit stale and 20 minutes is just enough to keep the legs feeling strong but not tired.

Mentally, I have to take the taper. I can't even run 20 min the day before teh race, though, as I feel like I oculd hurt something. the one year I did, I swear my legs felt awful after. So, I do all my plan calls for, except the last 20 min, and no more.

Really, I think it's all mental at this point. If you feel you have to get another run in, adn your body is not hurt or sick, go for it. Just take it easy. I don't think it's ever hurt me not to run right before. Heck, in 2007, I was sick and only ran once fro the last week anda half before the race. I started awesome that year and would have done great if it weren't fro the record setting heat.

Do what you must, but just don't over do.

no extra on Tuesday. taper means 40- 60% of your training mileage but training the same number of days. It would be better to get a 10- 20 minute treadmill jog in on Thursday than to run extra tuesday. But no worries, you will be fine.
