Tanning

Never. I have very pale skin and I just do not tan, I burn. I use SPF50 and I wear a sunhat. I now go to a dermatologist once a year to be checked for pre-cancerous moles. I shudder every time I see ads for tanning beds--and I "fired" the beautician I had who pushed tanning in a tanning bed at me. Do people not know that melanoma can be fatal?

I just used Neutrogena's spray tan and I didn't love it because I'm not coordinated enough to spray evenly. Everyone said it was better because it doesn't turn your hands orange. But I never had an orange hand problem with the lotion, you just need to wash right away.

The best was, I think, Jergen's gradual tan lotion. I liked the "gradual" part because you could see it appearing slowly and adapt how/where you applied the stuff.

I remember a few years back trying Lancome's self tanning stuff. It had a slight yellow hue. I gave it to my mom and it looked great on her! Go figure. I looked at the spray on too and wondered if I could apply it properly. Gonna go out this weekend and have a look at the Jergen's - thanks! I really am tired of being so pale.

Never. I slather on sunscreen while I'm on vacation so I don't burn. ;)

:thumbsup2

I do use a lotion with a little self tanner so I do not blind people with the sun's reflection off of my white skin :)
