Maybe a stupid question but couldn´t find the answer anywhere. Can you eat at tangaroa terrace without staying at the Disneyland hotel?

Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's are both outside of the gated pool area. You can definitely eat at them without staying there. :)

Yep, we visited during our last visit too. We didn't find the food particularly special, but it was ok, and we really enjoyed how unbusy and quiet it was. We sat outside overlooking the DLH pool.

You should ckeck out the menu on-line.
We weren't particularly thrilled with it either. Not bad, just unremarkable.

While on the other hand my wife and I particularly enjoyed the appetizers in Trader Sam's; we had the shrimp tacos and flatbread pizza. And the atmosphere is fantastic...the cast members/bartenders really make the place an enjoyable experience.

My family loves this place at night. That's when the ambiance is best. They quite often have a live Hawaiian band playing, and the tiki torches are lit.

I thought it was a shared kitchen between Tangaroa and Trader Sam's. I believe most of the menu items are the same. Perhaps some things like the green beans are unique at Trader Sam's, but the flatbreads and burgers looked the same to me when I compared the two menus when I visited. I think both menus had the shrimp tacos too.

I'd go to Trader Sam's instead as well. Love the atmosphere there. And the overpriced, but super cool drinks! lol

There is a shared kitchen, and many of the items are the same. There are a few items special to Trader Sam's, but I cannot recall them at this time.
