I do not start many threads here but on of my daughters has expressed and interest in the Tangaroa Terrace. Has anyone eaten there as of yet, does it take reservations and where may I locate a menu.

Thanks to all,

Jack

Check out allears dot net. They have hall the menus and update them often. You can find the new menus there. It's casual dining and no reservation is needed.

It is basically a fast food place. DLH's new counter service. We ate there for breakfast and for lunch on our trip a couple of weeks ago. I would not recommend breakfast. I threw the pastry I got away and DH said he would not order the breakfast wrap again. I would recommend lunch (if you are staying at, or visiting DLH and are hungry while there- I wouldn't make a special trip for it). DH and I both got the barbeque chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and we thought it was great- way above typical Disney counter service. Although we liked it, there is a diser that did a blog review that was not impressed. I will find it and post it again. There is a bar right next to Tangaroa Terrace, Trader Sams, that is pretty nice.

We actually enjoyed our dinner there and would recommend it for lunch or dinner. We did not enjoy breakfast as much, though. I wrote a Culinary Quest blog on our dinner experience. We ordered almost everything on the menu, so the blog includes several pictures. Click here if you are interested in reading it. I would try it at least once and decide for yourself. :thumbsup2

We tried it the day they opened the new slide. We had lunch. Only the flatbread had mixed reviews but my SIL doesn't like any flatbread meal. We would go back, wasn't to die for but it was a nice to have more choices than just hamburgers.

Jack, this is from one who will take a chance on anything - try it! Marc and I are planning on this when we are there in October. We miss Hook's Pointe and we're hoping this will be just as fun.

I am planning on it. I hate to go by what someones says. I love cavier, but everyone I know won't even try it.

I was wondering if it's worth a try too. We're staying off-site so it's a bit out of our way. Every second out of the park feels wasted to me so to get me to eat "outside" it would have to be pretty good.

I plan on having a big drink at Trader Sams..and then, I'm sure..anything at the Terrace will taste just fine :)

We had lunch there last month and loved it. I had the Island Fish and Chips and DH had the Hawaiian Burger. We shared both. I was hard pressed to choose a favorite of the two but I would say the Hawaiian Cheeseburger would win. I echo the previous raves. Both arrived hot and fresh. They were flavorful and unlike a review I have previously read elsewhere, my fish was not dry and I loved the dipping sauce. The burger was juicy and tasty. The only thing we did not care for was Pineapple-Lilikoi pie. It had a runny texture and tasted like neither Pineapple or Lilikoi to us--just an unrecognizable sour tart concoction. The banana bread was ok, but a little on the dry side and nothing to really write home about imho.

Jack, I'm not sure if you're heading to 33 this time around but if you do dinner, they sometimes have a caviar tasting. The problem with it is you really need to make sure your taste buds are prepped for it. The subtlties are so minute that some of it can escape you.

If you're not doing dinner this time around, maybe you'll have a chance the next time!!

Or......just go for it at the Terrace and see what you think!! Money be damned...jejeje

Had the cavier the last visit but doing lunch this time. The cavier was over the top a mix of very subtle flavors, if you closed your eyes you would not know it was caviar.
I never worry about the money when traveling, you only go around once and I work very hard to make sure I can do what I wish to do.

We just returned from Disneyland and we loved it!!! We went around 730pm and it was not busy. We orderd the the fish and fries and it was Yummy. The tarter sauce is homemade and it creamy and yummy. The portion I thought were ok not huge, but very good. They also bring the food to your table. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!! Love it!!!!

When we stayed at the DLH a few weeks ago we had breakfast there. My friend and I both had a yummy pineapple macedamia nut muffin!!! We both loved it and bought another one to take with us! :thumbsup2
