Ok so I still have tan lines from this summer. SO-I plan on tanning a little before we leave...next question...what is the best way NOT to get ridiculous tan lines while we are down there for 3 days prior to the wedding? Average hi is 76 degrees...
Any thoughts???

You have over a month, you don't think they'll fade by then?

The easiest thing to do is to go to a tanning bed.

Doubt it...I had tan lines on my feet from my tevas sametime last year...I plan on going tanning before...but what do you do AFTER you get to disney??? its still gonna be sunny...

Could you wear long sleeve light weight tops? ( you know like a sarong material, cant for the life of me remember what it is) Buy the highest factor lotion you can find, I know l'oreal do a factor 50 that is quite light and hypo-allergenic because its for children.

I went with tube tops this summer the few days before my wedding..but since temps are a little cooler down there now, I'd go with the long sleeve light weight tops. If you are swimming go with the strapless bikini top.

Ok, I live in Orlando. The only way to really prevent tan lines in FL is to get some sunscreen with SPF of at least 30. I'm very fair skinned, and my arms get tan just from being in my car for 5 minutes. If you're not going to wear long sleeves, you have to lotion yourself up, especially on your face. HTH.

Thanks for the insight...Looking for SPF higher than 30 :thumbsup2

The lightweight shirt is not a bad idea. I work at an outlet in Orlando and our store has shirts with sun portection in the shirts. . . .they actually block 85-98% of the UV depending on which one you wear. (and are endorsed by the Skin Cancer Association)

I know other retailers also have sun protection. . . so there is another way to go. . .

plus they block more UV than Sunscreens and the protection doesn't need to be reapplied.

I made sure to wear strapless shirts and bathing suits for the days leading up to my wedding...not sure, regardless of the time of year, I'd be able to survive in long sleeves in Florida (however that being said, I'm from Nova Scotia)...

I now tan everyweek. However, when I had those pesky tan lines, I bought some self tan stuff and that always worked.

if the average is 76 I definitely won't be able to survive...

Good point, I hadn't thought about this at all and plan on spending some time laying out by the pool in Disney before the wedding, and my wedding is in June so I will probably already have tan lines anyway! I think wearing either strapless shirts and bathing suits or long sleeve shirts depending on the temp. will work well... thanks for bringing this up, there are so many little things you just don't think of!

Air brush!!!! I did my best to avoid tan lines but still had a few. My makeup artist just air brushed me, it was fabulous! I had planned to have my face air brushed anyway, so she was able to just blend it into my neck, shoulders, back. They can even cover up a tattoo (one of my bridesmaids had this done), its amazing and highly recommended! Just be sure to ask your make up artist ahead of time if this is something they can do. Best part is, it doesn't run or sweat off, you are good until you wash with soap and water.

Also, don't forget to reapply the sunscreen throughout the day. 30 SPF doesn't last very long (although it's supposedly not much less protection than the 70+ stuff and has fewer chemicals. Dunno about that...).

This is a great resource for sunscreen info: http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/

Also, take some pics so you can see if the camera flash makes your tan lines show. I thought mine were blended and we didn't see any need to air brush but there they are, clear as day, in Rev Tim's pic of us (on his FB site). Mine were from a tank top, in July, and I had tanned in a bed twice a week for the entire months of Aug and Sept. :headache:
