tampa - Disney

I know this question has almost certainly been asked before but It's time for me to book again - has anyone done British airways Gatwick - Tampa ? and How far is Tampa Airport from Disney ?

We usually fly into Sanford but the deals on offer for Tampa are not bad at the moment - savings of a few hundred pounds.

any feedback appreciated.

Never flown to Tampa before but would be approx. 90 minutes or so to Orlando from there.

about 60 min to 90min depending on trafic ,dont forget to alow time for car hire pick up as of site

off site ? can't you pick your car up at Tampa Airport ? if not where do you go and how do you get there

You are fine if you rent with Avis, Hertz or Dollar (think one other too - Budget??). I know Alamo moved off site a couple of years ago, but it's just a case of getting a free courtesy bus.

We always fly to Tampa as we stay on the beach on the west coast and do day trips up to Disney, but it's a decent airport, customs has improved a lot over recent years, so not too much waiting around, and it's a pretty straightforward drive up to Orlando - I would say 90 minutes or so, but it's all motorway.

I have done the LGW to TPA route with BA it was well worth it, Good service at Tampa picked up rental car from Alamo after short trip on bus. Can't remember the exact time we arrived but there were not many cars on the road at the time, journey time to Lindfields on 192 was about 1hr 10mins and I wasn't driving fast (honest).
It wasn't that much further than Sanford is from our villa.
Saying that I am flying BA again this year but into MCO.
