Ok introduction-
Name- Tamara, call me Tammy
Age- 28
DOB- 4/10/77
Married to high school sweetheart, 2 kids 10 and 7.
My mom lives with us
I am a nursing student
I am diabetic
I suck at diets and life changes! LOL
Current weight- somewhere around 270ish, depending on how I stand on the scale and if I dare to weigh myself nekkid! ROFLMAO

Ok so today was day one, and for the first time ever I didnt cheat on the first day. Im sure we have all been there, good breakfast and by lunch your cheating, and then forget dinner, oh well I will try again tomorrow! WELL NOT TODAY

Today, I had an hard boiled egg with salt and a english muffin with butter for breakfast and a diet coke. I am type II diabetic so about 10ish my sugars plummeted, so I had some animal crackers (I did it went to the junk machine and didnt buy and eat junk), lunch was a salad, more hard boiled eggs, peaches(canned) and some celery with peanut butter, I ate the celery and PB while I walked for twenty minutes. Dinner wasnt bad but it wasnt good, I had 2 pieces of french toast and a slice of bacon, ham and sausage.

Now while I know the salt on my egg was not good, and the diet coke wasnt good, and the french toast wasnt the best choice, THIS is a great start for me. Once a month breakfast for dinner is a treat for my kids, they actually eat with no problems.
Today is good, i turned down bad food (not treats anymore bad bad bad food)
I walked, and I decided I dont need an exercise or diet buddy, if I want to do this, this time I am going to be accountable for my own actions, and not blame anyone else (even my hubby who is a mere 145 lb since high school, who feeds me snickers and ice cream) I also set some major goals.

1. I am going to be healthy for me and my family
2. I am going to tie the bow on my sneaker in the front not on the side
3. I am going to fit into the pants i fit into last spring
4. I am going to train for the 2007 half marathon in Disney World! My current pace per mile is 20-22 minutes I have work to do!

Feel free to post here, tell me where I go wrong, encourage my progress, kick my **** if I fall off, BUT this time I am going to bungie my **** to this challenge!

Good luck, Tammy! Congrats on a very successful first day! I hope that after posting you went to bed and didnt' snack. Late night snacking is my downfall.

Congratulations Tammy! You started! Keep up the good work. It is work, hard work. I'm on day 7, I weigh in the morning. Its been hard, but I've done way better than I was doing before I STARTED!

Ok so this morning I had an egg and english muffin again, afternoon snack was a fruit roll up, and lunch was a long story, I packed a salad and asked tom to bring me a chicken breast, well he brought me a chicken breast rice, and broccoli, and it looked so good I ate it all, they were small portions so I think Im ok there. Dinner was salsa fish, more rice, and corn. I slipped a bit and ate a 0.6 oz hershey bar for a snack due to stress! I know thats not good but I only ate one, and thats a big accomplishment ( i know ratinalizing doesnt make it right)

I also walked again 20- 25 minutes during lunch, and again ate my celery and PB while walking.

Thats good for day two, I think??
 

Welcome Tammy! Wow you're doing great so far! And it's ok to have a small hershey bar every now and again. Just remeber to drink plenty plenty of water and exercise when you can! Keep up the good work!
 
ok today was not too bad, but not the best. I am learning
Breakfast- english muffin and hard boiled eggs, i know i need a change
Lunch- (DOH) my friends at school ordered chinese and two of us split a beef and broccoli and white rice and an egg roll, half the calories
but no walk yet, dinner is my next challenge, we eat out once a week and tonight is Mc Donalds, I will go for a salad, and maybe a cheeseburger with no bun? and a walk thru walmart to look at toys for xmas and get a few groceries BBS
 
ok so dinner didnt go that well, I had a fish sandwich and some of the kids fries, and I did walk around walmart but not enough to get my heart rate going, ok and i had a pumpkin pie from mc donalds, and came home and mom brought salad, had that too, and a piece of cheese pizza, then woke up at 3am and freaked cause Tom wasnt home from work yet, and ate two sugar cookies! OKOK im gonna stop freaking, this is the plan for today, the 3am cookies are going on last nights oopsie list, this morning is a new day, so Back to my change of life

Breakfast either oatmeal or egg and english muffin I will have to tell ya later in the day after i eat, I know lunch is salad and 1 slice of Pizza, nothing but cheese and sauce! and I am going to walk inside today because its freaking cold all of a sudden and it might rain, BUT I am going to walk for as long as I can, if I eat quickly I might be able to get in 40-45 minutes! Im ready to et back on track.

When I have time to type more I will explain how and why I think my family likes to get me off course. Family being mom and Tom, and not exactly that they like it, but damn... that story to follow, time to eat and off to school I go!

OK so I had oatmeal for breakfast, a popcorn cake for a snack, salad and a slice of pizza, celery with cream cheese (who knew PB had soo many calories) and a fruit roll up, dinner was some ravioli, and a slice of bread.
I was able to walk today for 25-30 minutes! I feel better when I exercise!
OK so back to the family getting me off course...
TOm who loves me no matter what, knows that if Im stressed I like to eat so he makes me good food, Im trying to break him of that, my mom who is overweight her self, is trying to keep me heavy so that she can have a food friend. BUT I am moving on, and prospering, tomorrow is a test its a friends birthday, and I am going to have aslice, a small sliver! Ok talk to you all monday, I work all weekend, so I will have to write down my journal and report into you all. At times I feel wierd writing about what I eat but in the end I know its helping me be accoutable for my habits. Sorry if its a bore! LOL But hey whatever works, and Im sorry I have been unable to write anything in others journals,m between school, and home, and studies, and mom and work all weekend every weekend, I get busy, BUT I will make a point to try to as soon as xmas break comes!

Not a bad food day for you - that's great!!!!! You are accounting to yourself what gets in your way so that is also very good. Now just breaking others of the habits that get you is going to be hard but I know you can do it!!!!!
