Tammy & Randy's Wishes VR:7/14/10~WP/Napa/France-PROF PICS!!!!!

well I have been working on my tweaked mickey fan idea and I think it will work, but still a work in progress. I will post when completed. Dh and I have been discussing locations we are interested in. We pretty much have it narrowed down to what we would like. Currently planning on just immediate family which brings us to 27. Started thinking about room block and what hotels/resorts to include, planning on just picking two. Sort of have an idea where we think most will stay.more to come....Thanks for reading

Ok I have done alot of "practical" type of things I want included in our VR and have got some little extras for DH and 2 DDs. well now I am faced with a dilemma. I think I have found the dress and I am basically fretting over purchasing it( and its really not even the price-just the idea of doing it -actually buying it). I feel rather silly but I don't spend on myself and I am really feeling like oh my gosh can I really do this.... thats sounds silly but I am not sure I can really spend money on a dress for me (if it was for my dds that would be different- I think).... I guess I just need to vent a little and get over it. I didn't purchase my original gown( I made it) so this is really a first for me 18 years (almost 20 years) after the fact. I'm sorry if this sounds silly to some or all of you but I am using this board to sort of journal my way through everything. Am I crazy to want to do this let alone actually do the whole VR? The money could be spent on other things or saved for other things- I just feel a little unsure I guess. am I crazy to want to do this ;do we ( I) even deserve to spend the money on this......Just doubting today.....:confused3

Hi there! I havent posted on your PJ before, but I've been catching up today. I completely understand the feeling that maybe the money would be better spent elsewhere. I actually went through this multiple times during planning my wedding. However, in the end I finally decided that it was something I really wanted. Life is so short and you should make the most of each day you have. Who knows when you might get another chance to plan something this special for you and family again?! I say just go for it. Make those special memories that you will remember forever...that's what lifes about after all :goodvibes

I am in the same boat. Everytime i think about getting something for this VR, i think of something for the kids i could buy. Just the cost of the VR itself, nothing else, will pay for 1 yr at a private school for DD. A new dress for myself will be about $300-400, plus shoes. Dress and clothes for DH, DD and DS, another $300-400. Then the cost of the vacation, and everything we'll need for the trip, plus all the extra's for the VR. We're looking at over $10K!! And that's just an escape package on the Cruise! It's really hard to justify putting that towards something "frivolous" for me.

So then i have to think about what this is showing DD and DS. Look at all her friends parents, look at what they see on TV, gesh just looks at their grandparents and aunts and uncles. :headache: Not to get all storybook and fantasty like, but we have something special here, and it needs to be celebrated. Not only is this VR for DH and I, but it's for our children. To show them that marriage can work, and that two people can form a lasting life together. And this is our reward for it.

Ok after venting my fears yesterday, I talked with DH and his response was* we are doing this for us and the kids...." so thats where we stand." Thanks for the support and responses. I just needed to hear that I wasn't crazy for wanting this. thanks for reading.:)

Good response from your DH! Good luck with the planning!

You DESERVE the dress! I think you should get it! it's not every day you celebrate your 20 anniversary! If the money is not a problem, go for it! You should feel and dress like a princess on your big day!!!!!!

OOOOOOH i can't wait to see it!! You go girl!

Oohh.. Post pictures of the dress soon! Can't wait to see it!

this is the picture from a website.... when I tried it on it was on a whim because I really didn't think I would like it and it wasn't what I thought wanted-a little fancier than I had imagined/thought, but when I tried it on I knew! The dress is ivory, dh will wear ivory shirt. I am not wearing a veil maybe a tiara.

I never thought I would find a dress, let alone one I wanted and on sale too ( it was approx. 50% off). Yeah me and my bank account!
