How is this place?

I get the sense it is always packed with people either waiting to get into to O'hana or those who could not get into O'hana.

Well, it opens in early afternoon, I believe, so the least crowded time would be before 'Ohana starts dinner service, for sure. I have never had anything other than drinks there and they were good.

It is literally the doorstep of Ohana and It is usually crowded when Ohana starts serving dinner.

I've never actually found it to be overly busy. If people can't get into 'Ohana they don't usually hang around. Then you've got the people waiting for ADR's. Those with families often move to other areas rather than gathering in the Tambu lounge area. Plus, since they are waiting to be seated there is quite a bit of turnover. It's usually crowded, but not difficult to find a seat pretty quickly. As mentioned, the afternoons, prior to 'Ohana opening, are super quiet and a great way to spend some downtime with a drink.

I've never found it to be overly crowded & always got to have a seat whether going solo or w/a friend. But, I do tend to be there for non-peak hours before the dinner rush while I'm taking a break from the parks so I'm sure that helps.

I really enjoy the Lapu Lapu (bring your pineapple back for a refill instead of throwing it out to save a few bucks or get it sans pineapple in a plastic go-cup for less $ if that matters to you). My other favorite drink is the Backscratcher (warning: this is usually a pretty heavy pour that can sneak up on you if you're not careful!). I've also tried appetizers & haven't had anything I didn't like yet. I've gotten hot wings more than once & the pulled pork sliders are yummy, too.

DDs (18 yo twins) and I are considering Tambu for a quick bite before heading to MVMCP on Thursday, 12/15. Should we expect much of a crowd around 2pm-ish?

There might be a few people there but IME, not at that time on a weekday.
