Hello, everyone!

My family and I are going to WDW for a milestone birthday during the first week in December. My daughter will be 5 and my son will be about a month and a half shy of 3. We have been to WDW as a couple four times, but this is our first trip with the kiddos.

My question is this: My son is super tall for his age. He turns two at the end of this month and we measured him on New Year's Day and he is already 37 inches tall. I am thinking he will be tall enough to ride the 40 in + rides when we go to WDW this December. If he will be tall enough, I know he will want to ride all he rides within his height limit. This means things like Splash Mtn, Big Thunder Mt , etc. Do you think it would be okay for a tall two year old to ride these?Has anyone had experience with this situation? I'm specifically worried about people not believing he's only 2, along with him riding some faster rides.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hi, DS's first Disney trip was two weeks before he turned 3. He was 40 inches tall with his shoes on. He was fine on all of the rides. He did BTM, Splash Mt., test track and Tower of Terror. He liked them all. I think you know your child best and if he is not afraid and wants to go on the rides then let him. Maybe take him on Goofys Barnstormer first to see how he does. We took DS birth certificate but no one ever questioned us about his age. I hope you have a great time :)

Thank you, hearing about your experience helps a lot. My son is a pretty easy kid, generally he's on board for everything. We will be going to the amusement park at the Mall of America in March so that will be a good gauge of how he handles rides. :)

I'd definitely let him give it a try! My DS had just turned 3 when he reached 40 inches and was excited to try everything. He tried them all, but wasn't a fan of ToT and Splash Mountain so he didn't do them again.

My daughter is 39 inches at 2.5. We took her to the world at 28 months and were only asked once how old she was. It was at the entrance to MK. We said two and nothing more was done or said. If we got the look that many people are scared about, I didn't notice it.

I didn't bring a copy of her birth certificate since I forgot, but I felt fine the whole time since I knew she was two and we weren't doing anything we shouldn't be.

Can't comment on any of the rides, but at least was hoping to help on the entrance part. It was a really great few days, and we loved that we didn't have to pay for her food at all the character meals we did! (Crystal palace, garden grill, and CRT)

What happens on the 'bigger' rides when the rest of the family has FP and you try to bring the little one who will not? Is this allowed? I know for the barnstormer they let the little ones ride but I'[m questionning what happens on bigger rides like Splash and TOT?

My dd has always been tall, she rode thunder mountain and splash mountain a couple of months before she was 3. She was fine and apart from a cm checking she was tall enough nobody asked about her age. She was tall enough for tower of terror but we never took her on that as I don't think she would have liked it

We just said she was under 3 and didn't have a park ticket, she was allowed through the fast pass line with us

My daughter started riding all thrill rides as she was tall enough to ride them. She started at 2.5. If you think your son will enjoy them and he's tall enough, have fun and enjoy!
