DS age 2.5 will be 3 in November and just hit 40 inches tall:cool1: If you have/had a taller preschooler, which rides did he/she like? We are going in December and while we love all of the big rides, we're not sure what a preschooler would like. He loves the Barnstormer and other kiddie coasters that we have been on at both Storybook Land and Dutch Wonderland. He will ride anything he sees and is often bored with the 'baby rides' that some amusement parks have. We were thinking Test Track might be a good choice as well as Soarin. BTMRR may work too, any others?? Thanks!:goodvibes

Splash and Star Tours are decent options that my daughter liked around age 3.

My DS loved Splash at 2.5. :thumbsup2
He has been talking nonstop about TestTrack for the last two month.

Mine liked everything but Dinosaur (we actually didn't tell her she was tall enough for it, because we thought it would be too scary) and Splash (we actually didn't tell her she was tall enough for it, because none of us wanted to ride it). She didn't have any issues with Tower of Terror, though.

I agree with the ideas given! Splash Mountain is one of my favorites and I think that age would really enjoy it, too.

I've found it is more about what each child can deal with rather than if they can get on.....My 8 yr old has been tall his whole life too----and hates Dinosaur!!!!!!

Thanks everyone! We have been on Dinosaur, and I agree that may be too much for him. I didn't even think about Splash, but at Christmas we'll have to see what the weather is like. Anyone else have experience with TOT? We love the ride, but it can do a number on DH's stomach!

My DS love TOT too. I did prep him on that one since he is scared of spooky stuff. We watched the video on youtube and I said "oooh look at all those pretty stars and then you up and down" I think he was pretty much too little to even get that is supposed to be spooky. HM on the other hand is now a no go.

Both of our kids are relative giants compared to their peers, so we were in the same boat. We always started small and worked our way up - and let them pick when they wanted to stop. On the last trip, I did have to 'conn' my DS into trying EE. He tried, wasn't a fan, but he tried and it didn't hurt anything else for our trip. They'll let you know how they feel!

As for Dinosaur - every kid is different. Our daredevil DD hated it, but our relatively timid DS loved it.

I think you should start on the smaller stuff and work your way up. yes, he may be tall enough, but he may not be mature enough.

for example, my 4 year old went on bigthundermountain and LOVED it. though some smaller children might freak out about the curves in the dark?

I don't know about TOT as my husband REFUSES to let my 4 year old on it cause he thinks it will be too scary. ;)

I would say for example, if he likes barnstormer he would probably like thundermountain and splash mountain. if he likes those then you could try others and slowly make your way up to ToT. ;)
