We spent a few days there 3 months ago and the beds in our room were rediculously tall!

My mom had to get a running start to jump up onto the bed. Are all the rooms equipped like that?

Made me wonder if someone got a great deal on a thousand matress sets and got stuck with them?;)

yes they are tall but I don't know if all rooms are alike . We had a studio in April and they were high and hard as a rock. The mattress didn't fit the frame either.

Yes - I am hopping for better this time - if not - I will definitely complaint - should have last time -I had to help mother in and out of it - it was just way too high.

but my niece only wants to stay at OKW......

They need to be that tall to maintain a karmic balance that gets upset by all of the people cramming aerobeds onto the floors in the studios at BWV/VWL/BCV.

I believe they do, that was my suggestion as well.

Just so you know it's not all one-sided - we love those high beds ::yes::

was in an OKW studio -handicapped accessible and the bed was still high and we whacked our shins on those darn beds alot!

I do agree, the studio beds are definitely shin whackers! It's that darned wooden frame. Funny, but none of our family ever noticed the beds were high! Could be because most of us have some height too.

Yeah, but whackin' your shin takes your mind off your park weary sore feet.

LOL, but only for a few seconds!:teeth:

I find the beds to be similar to my wooden bed at home.

I have never seen a wooden bed that was low to the ground. As to the wooden frame and your shins, what type of bed does anyone have that is different.

Every bed I have slept in at OKW has been very high off the ground. My Mom found them hard to get into at Christmas. While OKW is still my favaorite resort, I don't like the way the bedspread at OKW is so short.

Another vote here liking the high beds at any DVC resort. It makes it easy to open our suitcase up and just slide it under the bed. Now the short sheets tucked in is another story. First thing I do in the bed is untuck the bottom of the covers/sheets so my feet son't feel so cramped. Unfortunately that's the case at any placed I've ever stayed.

The bedspreads used to be longer, but in an attempt to save money,DVC cut about a foot off the end and cut them into squares. This was much cheaper then purchasing replacement placemats when the original ones mysteriously disappeared.

She's lucky. My wife brings a ladder.
