Is it difficult to see the talking Mickey without a fast pass? Best location?

There is only one place to meet with "Talking Mickey."
That's at Town Square Theater in MK.

The FP Sticky lists the FP for this as a "B" (mid-priority.)
It can fully depend on the time of day that you go to the attraction as to
whether a FP is more needed or not.

As always with this attraction, keep in mind that he is not actually described as
a "talking" Mickey. While he generally does talk, there are times that due to technical issues,
he will be his more common silent "Mime Mickey." No way to know this in advance.

Without a fastpass, I think you need to time your visit right. We regularly saw waits of 40 minutes for Town Square Mickey on our last trip (which was a moderate crowd period).

They have made some very recent upgrades to the talking mechanism so his talking skills have improved compared to when it was first introduced.
Also, his technical difficulties are fewer than once were so your odds are better but still do exist so it is still possible. Just thankfully, lower.

For stand by, going during the parade is a good time for a lower line and going right at the end of the parade is one of the worse times.
It does tend to be hard to get as a 4th FP

I love him but my friends find him creepy LOL The wait isn't too bad normally for him.

I am sad I didn't even know about him until all the FP are gone for the day. Is he pretty much there all day and night or just designated times? Trying to decide if I should stay late at extra hours for the kids to see him.

He's there the entire time the park is open (baring technical difficulties as mentioned above)

He should be there from park opening to closing, but as said before, technical issues might have him replaced by the ''regular'' Mickey.

You can try to get him using the "refresh" technique. I got most of our group in to see him on the same day by refreshing constantly (just 1 person at a time). I find he's reasonably available that way.

We ducked into the Town Square Theater during a parade and saw that the wait was only 15 minutes. We got in line and were in and out in 5 minutes- there was no wait at all!

This question is answered in post #8 above.

I was there labor day week, and his lines were some of the longest in the park for some reason. One day the sign said 70 minutes on my way out. I was very surprised at that number. In contrast the Tinkerbell wait time at the same time was 15 minutes. This was probably mid-afternoon.

We've had about 50/50 success, way too many sore throats. My adult kids thought he was creepy.

On a whim on Wednesday, we thought about using an anytime FP (BTMR was down during our window but we had already ridden it twice this trip) for Talking Mickey but when I peeked my head in, I only saw a standby entrance and figured there was no FP. Where is the FP entrance located? It was super hot so maybe I was just not totally with it! ;) So sorry we missed the chance now.

I check MDE for wait times often during the day, and his times can be pretty high. Not worth a FP for us, though. If we see him, cool, if not, oh well!

Talking Mickey was a highlight of our recent trip.

"He" was the shortest Mickey I've ever seen. As we were waiting to see him, I wondered what to say if the kids asked about why he talks there but no where else.

Our precocious 2.5 year old piped up with that question and her daddy responded, "He's in his office so he feels comfortable enough to talk here." LOL! She bought it.

The line for Mickey was taking a lot of time and somebody mentioned that the line to meet Tinkerbell was only 5 minutes. Our 2 year-old moved her hand side-to-side and said, "No, no! I see Mickey Mouse."

Both my nieces cracked me up that afternoon.
